Will you do anything today to celebrate Valentine’s Day?

By now you know today is Valentine’s Day. A day to celebrate love! And no, it doesn’t just have to be romantic love. Hey, make your dog a special dinner tonight—that counts, too! Call your friend (if they’re a lady friend, they’re your “galentine”!), and if you’re alone, FaceTime or Zoom with a family member or friend while you eat dinner. That way you’re “having dinner” with someone.

Will you do something today to celebrate? If so, are you going out to celebrate or are you staying in to celebrate? Are you not sure yet? Not celebrating? If you are doing something special, please leave a comment below the poll and tell us what it is. We want to know. We love love!

We went out to dinner at a fine dining restaurant on the evening of the 13th, to avoid the crowds on the 14th.

Good thinking! We tried to take my MIL out for dinner a day prior to Mother’s Day. DH’s sister & niece got upset and insisted on celebrating on the Sunday itself When we got there we found a 2 hr wait MIL was quite frail & I was worried about her before the meal ended. We’ve since continued the tradition of going out the day before or after

Valentines day is important to us We’ve been married 50 years The previous 10 we were just messing around. He’s my best friend, confidante comrade cheerleader, personal comedian. I never know what will come out of his mouth next, sometimes hilarious but always interesting We used to give the kids pink red or purple Tshirts & cook a red meal-spaghetti or chili with cherry pie or some such red dessert.

We’ll be on duty as camp hosts at our RV resort but will attend a Valentine’s dinner with 300 of our friends featuring chicken cordon bleu and dancing with a DJ afterwards.

We go together to pick out our Valentine’s cards. After picking them out, we show our cards to each other, hug and kiss and put the cards back! HAHA

My ex-hub and I did this too!
The dog looks just like my schnoodle boy but much better groomed. Gizzard is looking pretty scraggly right now.

Depends on what is meant by “go out and celebrate”.
Take cow innards up to tree farm for coyotes…
Shop for new septic tank lid…
Go to Thai for lunch…
Spending the day together just dinking around is celebration enough!

Not really a celebration but we will dine at a local favorite early…before the rush. We will rejoice in the goodness we have in our life and the joy of adventure and someone to share it with.

Since our anniversary is on the first (49th!), and we usually go out for it, I fix a special dinner at home for V day. Also, because we are blessed to help homeschool our 4 grandchildren who live nearby, we have a Valentine’s brunch to make the day special. We love RV traveling but will never FT because we love our family involvement.

We have friends who call these “Hallmark ” holidays, holidays designed to get you to spend money. We aren’t doing anything special.

We will go have late lunch at a local favorite and be home before the afternoon commute or dinner rush start.

I recall what it was to be and feel young and in love, but I just cannot get the feeling back. Something changed when my body aged. Just another day on the calendar now.

After over 46 years together, camping, traveling, and just enjoying each other’s company, this year we’ll just enjoy a quiet dinner at home and celebrate the fact that my new heart parts seem to be working pretty well so far.

Absolutely. Went to Farmstead and purchased Caprese sandwich with Italian herbs and mozzarella cheese on ciabatta bread and one of their special treats. Yes we loved it. Definitely our Valentine.
