Do you call your spouse or significant other “Honey”?

Before you continue reading, we’re requiring that you click here and play this song while you vote! It just makes it more fun…

Do you call your spouse or significant other “Honey”? A fun survey by The Black Tux breaks down the most popular pet names (like “Babe,” “Honey” or “Dear”) in each state. According to the 5,000 responses they got, the most popular pet name across the U.S. is “Babe” followed by “Honey.” You can see the full list broken down by geographic location here. It’s fun!

Some states were more traditional than others, with “Sweetheart” and “Darling” popping up in places you might not expect. In the South, you’ll still hear “Sugar” and “Lovebug,” while the West Coast leaned more modern with names like “Boo” and “Bae.” And apparently, if you’re in the Midwest, there’s a decent chance you’re calling someone “Pumpkin.”

It’s funny how these little nicknames take on a life of their own. Maybe it started as a joke, a slip of the tongue, or a habit picked up from your parents—and suddenly, it just stuck. These quirky, sweet, or downright strange terms of endearment say a lot about us, our relationships, and sometimes even where we’re from.

If you don’t call them “Honey,” what do you call them? Tell us in the comments after you vote. Don’t be embarrassed!

When we first married, I called my wife “ little one “. I’m 6’ 3”, she’s 5’ 3”. Over the years it’s changed to honey, beautiful, or just ma’m.

Rarely enough I’ll say no. Almost expected to hear the Archies “Sugar, Sugar” rather than Abba.

I normally shorten it up to Hon. I guess I picked it up from my Dad calling my Mother the same thing. I’m 80 years old so that was a long time ago!

I don’t think I do, if I use a pet name it’s “sweetie”. He uses “Darling” which has always surprised me because it seems so old fashioned to me.

🤣 Kinda’ like when Mom calls her child by their full name, rather than a shorter version (like “Daniel” instead of “Danny”), that’s a clear indication that they’re in trouble. Have a great day, Kelly.🤗 –Diane

No, but I do call her other things, especially when she can’t hear me.
