Jayco recalls five lines of motorhomes for power steering issue

Jayco has recalled certain 2020-2022 Entegra Esteem, Odyssey, and Jayco Greyhawk, Redhawk and Greyhawk Prestige motorhomes. An inadequate connection between the power steering pressure line and the brake hydroboost unit could result in a sudden loss of power steering fluid.

A sudden loss of power steering fluid can result in a loss of power steering and power brake assist, increasing the risk of a crash and injury. As many as 1,719 RVs may be affected.

Remedy

Dealers will replace the power steering pressure line and the hydro boost jumper line, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed May 30, 2024. Owners may contact Jayco customer service at 1-800-283-8267 to learn more.

Additional background

This issue stems from an earlier Ford Motor Company recall. Ford Motor Company notified the Jayco Inc. compliance department, via letter by U.S. Mail, that they are recalling certain 2021-2022 E-350 and E-450 vehicles equipped with dual rear wheels. Ford is aware of one accident that may be related to this concern, but is not aware of any injuries related to this concern.

Thank you, Russ and Tina! 🙂 Hmm, … seems to be a pattern developing. In particular, if a business makes RVs, then the business also will issue one or more recalls on one or more RV models. Yikes! Thanks for the warnimg news! Safe travels! 🙂

More of a Ford problem than a Jayco problem I’d say. In this case.
