Thor Motor Coach announced two separate recalls on June 11, both of which can put the respective RVs at risk for a fire. Both recalls involve only motorhomes.
Heat Shield May Not Protect Propane Tank
In the first recall, Thor is recalling certain 2024-2025 Indigo and Luminate motorhomes. The heat shield that protects the propane tank from engine exhaust may be too short, which can cause the propane tank to become overheated.
A propane tank that becomes overheated increases the risk of a fire, which can lead to injury or worse.
Remedy
Dealers will install an overlapping heat shield, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed August 6, 2024. Owners may contact TMC customer service at 1-877-500-1020. TMC’s number for this recall is RC000306.
Incorrect Circuit Breaker May Cause Fire
Thor is also recalling certain 2025 Thor Tranquility and Sanctuary motorhomes. A 50-amp circuit breaker was incorrectly installed when a 20-amp breaker was required, which can result in overheated wiring.
Wiring that overheats increases the risk of a fire, injury or worse.
Remedy
Dealers will install a 20-amp circuit breaker, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed August 6, 2024. Owners may contact TMC customer service at 1-877-500-1020. TMC’s number for this recall is RC000305.
More information is available on both recalls by contacting the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or going to www.NHTSA.gov.

Its a Sad state of affairs at Thor.
Thank you, RV Travel! 🙂 Wow! Thor must have decided to give Forest Rivet a go in the race to most recalls per period!?!?! Thanks again and safe travels! 🙂
Not Suprising, as we were at nearly $10,000 out of pocket for Manufacturers Defect repairs on our 2017 Challenger 37TB. Luckily Thor was forced to reimburse us nearly $2,000 after I filed a report with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, at http://www.safecar.gov and they issued a RECALL, for 2017 Thor Challenger, Miramar, and Outlaw cargo doors that debonded and separated while driving .
Thor has a long history of shoddy construction, and questionable Customer Support.
Sad as we love our Challenger, and its floor plan.
