It’s 2024 and the popular Thor Rize 18G Class B motorhome has gotten some upgrades and changes. In the video below from Thor Motor Coach, we get a tour of this super-tiny camper van that manages to pack in some big features.
The Thor Rize 18G is smaller than some mid-sized trucks and can fit in any parking space, yet it gives you everything you need to live comfortably while traveling.
Know that besides the model you see in the video, Thor offers different floor plans and also offers a lot of customization options in this RV, so you can get the features important to you.

The floor plan is well thought out, which is vitally important in a space this small. Opposing seating in the back works for living, working, and dining space, and also converts to a bed. The front driver and passenger seats swivel around to become comfortable living room seats. Doing this in a Class B always opens up the overall space, too.
If you need more sleeping space, or even for star-watching and ventilation purposes, a nice option on this rig is the retractable roof with its sky bunk (see video to see how it works). Know that if you opt for the sky bunk, a cabinet A/C will replace the standard rooftop A/C.
For a small camper van, the Thor Rize has both great kitchen and bath facilities.
In the kitchen, you’ll find a small 12-volt fridge, 2-burner stove, microwave, and sink with flush cover to maximize counter space.
The back of the van houses the surprisingly large wet bath which includes a shower, cassette toilet, medicine cabinet, flip-down sink, and large wardrobe closet.

More nice features of the 2024 Thor Rize 18G
- Truma Combi eco system for heat and hot water
- Screen over side sliding door
- Built-in HDMI, cable, 110 volt, and USB outlets
- 1,000-watt inverter
- 190 watts solar
- Power awning
- Outdoor propane quick connect
What’s not to like?
Aside from the price, which always seems to be an issue with these small camper vans, I did not find a lot I didn’t like about this one. I find the layout practical, the kitchen and bath impressive, and the options, especially the popup roof, intriguing. If I were in the market for a very small camper van that can easily double as an around-town vehicle, this one would make the list of finalists.

Thank you, Cheri! 🙂 I saw the sky bed operate, but it was not as helpful as I’d have liked. I think.sleeping that way would be very unpleasant for someone with claustrophobia. 🤔 Going to the bathroom while the bed is setup looked challenging, particularly if sleeping east and west rather than north and south. A huge bonus for an exhibitionist is the ability to shower with the rear door open. 🤔😯 Incorporating all the driving safety features of passenger vehicles is helpful, but the biggest downside is Thor’s “reputation.” My bias against them is quite strong. I cannot imagine ever considering the purchase of one of their products. Thanks again, Cheri, have a great day, safe travels! 🙂
