A section of Indiana’s Interstate 69 was closed Saturday morning while zebras and camels strolled about on the median. It was an unexpected situation, but law enforcement officials rose to the circus-like occasion.
Zebras and camels provide new way to stripes

The non-native contingent of zebras and camels had been traveling rather anonymously through Grant County on board a semi-trailer. That all stopped when the rig caught fire. The early-morning fire brought the interstate to a halt as the exotic creatures were safely pulled off the trailer.
As zebras grazed on median grass, waiting for transport out, law enforcement officers took time for a few selfies. Happily, none of the animals were hurt. After the mop-up, the interstate was reopened to traffic. Puts a whole new spin on what really is “hump day.”

I’m glad none of the animals were ‘wild’….And did not want their picture taken…Or humans too close….
Thank you, Russ and Tina! That must have been some sight! 🙂 Safe travels! 🙂
