2024 Coachmen Encore 375RB Class A gas motorhome—Perfect combo of quality and price

In the video above we join Matt and Andrea of Matt’s RV Reviews (one of the winners of our 2024 RV video awards), for a walk-through tour of what he says is his FAVORITE Class A gas-powered motorhome. Matt reviews a whole lot of RVs, but he says if he were personally in the market for a Class A gas motorhome, this would be his pick as it’s the perfect combination of quality and price.

The motorhome in the video is the bunk bed/office/wardrobe combo floor plan, and just like it sounds, it offers a lot of versatility.

I love that you can access the entire motorhome with the slides in and I also love the light, airy look of the interior décor.

The kitchen impresses with panoramic windows so you can enjoy the view while cooking, a HUGE stainless steel farmhouse-style sink, a convection microwave, a 3-burner Magic Chef cooktop, and a large stainless steel residential style fridge.

This rig features 1 1/2 bathrooms, so that you can keep the master suite bath private and still have a place for guests to go.

In addition to the king-sized bed in the bedroom, there is a large drop-down bunk over the cab that supports up to 500 pounds, and, of course, dinettes and sofas that convert to additional sleeping areas.

Most unique is the versatile side room you encounter in the hallway.  It contains two bunk beds, but WAIT! If you don’t want bunk beds, they flip up out of the way to turn the space into a large wardrobe closet, OR you can flip up the bed to reveal a small office space with desk and chair!

What’s not to like?

I never understand why some RV manufacturers make rigs with fresh water tanks that are smaller than the gray and black water tanks. Give me more fresh water, please!

Unless you always plan to stay in campgrounds with shore power, 100 watts of rooftop solar is not nearly enough for this rig, especially with a residential-style fridge, although it does come with a generator.

The slide room that spans most of the length of the motorhome adds a lot of space, but it’s also a potential maintenance disaster if not properly taken care of.

In addition, Matt says the toilets are not quite “prime poop positions.” But, honestly, I saw no such issues unless you are his size or larger, and even then this was a nitpicking criticism that was barely an issue.

He also did not like the unlevel flip-up table by the front door, and Andrea does not like floor vents (although there’s only one and it’s in the rear bathroom).

My biggest complaint with almost every Class A is that there is no driver’s door. Foretravel is the only one I’ve seen who has that wonderful option. A real PITA every time you make a stop – for anything. I didn’t watch the video. To politely put it, I’m not a fan of Matt and Andrea. Well, Matt specifically.

Les, Matt needs to take lessons from Josh. Matt drives me nuts!

I agree. I’ll watch Josh’s video review if it is for an RV of interest to me. But I’ll take a permanent pass on Matt’s.

Really appreciate the floorplan picture. Please put pictures of inside. I don’t have time or desire to watch videos and usually don’t have internet to open them. Thanks!

Especially ones that are nearly a half hour long.

Gonna be tough moving that with a 3L V8. Lol. A 7.3L me thinks! 🙂

Thank you, Cheri! 🙂 Perhaps the fresh water tank is only 70 gallons because the cargo carrying capacity (CCC) is only 4,000 pounds. 70 gallons of fresh weighs 580 pounds. This RV can sleep 6 people. Using values from a quick-and-dirty web search, 3 men (~196 pounds) and 3 women (~169 pounds) may weigh about 1,100 pounds. Adding a combo or washer & dryer is another 170-210 lbs. Combined with a full fresh-water tank, the available CCC falls to 2,200 pounds. So many “nice” features add weight that there isn’t much room for pots, pans, food, or to tow anything. With the “house” part as heavy as it is, this should be on a diesel chassis. Thanks again, Cheri, and safe travels! 🙂

This short, abbreviated review doesn’t tell us anything about this RV. If you can’t provide a professional in-depth analysis of a reviewed RV, don’t bother.

Wow, Lonewolf! Cheri posts video RV reviews and writes up a synopsis of the info in the video (some of our readers don’t like watching videos, or can’t, for whatever reason). You don’t like her brief recap of the video? Don’t read it. Sounds pretty simple to me.🙄 –Diane at RVtravel.com

So a quarter million bucks for this, when you include tax, license, associated BS.
A quarter million bucks……

Nice rig. Might be nice enough to get me to give up my diesel Dodge and bumper pull toy hauler. Schlepping heavy hitches and bars gets old when you are old.

Looking at the diagram pictured floor plan, I don’t see how the bedroom and rear bath could be accessible with both slideouts in.

I don’t like it, back to drawing board, looks cheap but it isn’t. Proof Reader needs a good flogging, 3 litter v8 ford indeed

Thanks, Niki. This proofreader knows zilch about motors, so I didn’t catch that. It’s been corrected to 7.3L. Have a good day. 😀 –Diane at RVtravel.com
