2024 Florida RV SuperShow: Damp weather does little to dampen enthusiasm

2024 Florida RV SuperShow promoters are pleased that attendance at this year’s event was off only 5% compared to 2023. Some 75,123 people braved cool, rainy weather to tromp through the show, snapping up promotional material and, in some cases, snap up a new RV, as well.

“Cautious optimism” for 2024 Florida RV SuperShow rewarded

According to a report in Woodall’s Campground Magazine, the promoter’s “cautious optimism” proved up. “Election years are always squirrelly and interest rates haven’t been all that favorable,” commented Dave Kelly, the executive director of the Florida RV Trade Association. “There are so many things that go into a purchase decision – confidence more than anything else.”

Kelly noted a major complaint was that when the rains poured, visitors crowded the indoor venues. “When it did rain a little bit on Wednesday and Thursday, and again a little on Friday afternoon, it just drove everybody inside,” Kelly said. “So, they were just mobbed.”

Perhaps next year’s show will prove milder from a weather standpoint. We’ll find out when the show is slated to pop up again January 15 through 19, 2025.

Russ and Tiña De Maris
Russ and Tiña went from childhood tent camping to RVing in the 1980s when the ground got too hard. They've been tutored in the ways of RVing (and RV repair) by a series of rigs, from truck campers, to a fifth-wheel, and several travel trailers. In addition to writing scores of articles on RVing topics, they've also taught college classes for folks new to RVing. They authored the book, RV Boondocking Basics.

Thank you, Russ and Tina! 🙂 i wonder how many sales came from the show, and how they compared to the number of attendees relative to other years?
