4 unique pizza recipes that aren’t pizza

Grilled Cheese Pizza Supreme

by Cara J. Mastrangello from Albany, NY

This grilled cheese is like a supreme pizza in a grilled sandwich—a fantastic idea! We loaded our sandwich with all the suggested toppings and fell in love. But tailor the sandwich with your favorite pizza toppings. Buttery grilled sourdough holds in the gooey cheese, hearty pepperoni, and salty prosciutto. Fresh basil adds a pop of flavor.

We added a little sauce inside the grilled sandwich and served some on the side for dipping. If you don’t have a panini press, these can be grilled in a skillet. Here’s the recipe.

Pizza Stuffed Peppers

by Jeannie Potter Hurocy from De Soto, MO

Jeannie’s stuffed peppers are delish! They have all the wonderful pizza flavors stuffed inside bell peppers. We love how she layers the meat, toppings, and cheese. It creates a wonderful bite.

If you want, as we did, add your favorite pizza toppings for even more pizza flavor and style. We opted for pepperoni. Get the recipe here.

Pepperoni Pizza Dogs

by Barbara Lentz from Beulah, MI

If you have children in your life, you know almost all kids love both pizza and hot dogs. This may sound different, but it’s surprisingly good and combines the best of both worlds. It’s a whole new twist on pigs in a blanket. The crescent roll dough is stuffed with a hot dog, cheese, and pepperoni.

At the end of baking, it’s topped with extra sauce and cheese to make things super yummy. After the baking process, the hot dog gets a little crisp. Great for an after-school treat, weeknight meal or a game day snack. Kids can help prepare them, too. Get the recipe here.

Banana Split Brownie Pizza

by Karen Axel-Knispel from Plainview, NY

If you need an easy and fun summer dessert, try this brownie pizza. We love brownies and turning them into a pizza is quite tasty. It’s a colorful and somewhat light dessert.

Everyone at your cookouts will love this guilty pleasure. Here’s the recipe.

My family loved the casserole made with boxed au gratin or scalloped potatoes, pepperoni, crushed tomatoes, and mozzarella cheese. (Pizza Potatoes from a Betty Crocker recipe card)
