New Hampshire camping fees could blast upwards in state parks. That’s the case if a proposed change going before the Granite State legislature is approved.
New Hampshire camping fees static since 2012
New Hampshire’s Division of Parks and Recreation says camping fees have been static since 2012. Rates for primitive sites would jump from $23 to $29, a 26% increase. “Standard” campsites in more developed campgrounds would go from $25 to $35, or a 40% increase.
But bigger sites would definitely take a hit. What the state describes as double, triple, and quad sites jump from the $20 per night at present, to a whopping $40, or 100% increase.
RV hookups take some blame
The rationale for the proposed New Hampshire camping fee jumps are that the current fees aren’t competitive with those charged by private facilities. State officials say that the government has also pumped “major capital investments” in expansion and upgrades, including RV hookups.
The Joint Legislative Fiscal Committee is scheduled to look into the matter of jacking up camping fees on December 15.
New Hampshire state parks aren’t the only ones. A popular Utah National Park has already decided to jump camping fees. Click here for more information.

Thank you, Russ and Tina! Well, the good news is that we have never taken the RV there, so we won’t realize that the fees are higher if/when we do. 😉
Although low fee’s are nice you have to expect a raise in fees when it hasn’t gone up in 10+ years…
Forsee a lot of driveway camping in the 2024.
