Rayne Beau the cat from Salinas, California, went missing during a camping trip in Yellowstone National Park. After days of searching for the family pet, owners Benny and Susanne Anguiano gave up. The couple frequently take their cats camping.
Then, 60 days later, 2-year-old Rayne Beau miraculously reappeared on the streets near Sacramento, more than 800 miles away. Lucky for the cat and the Anguianos, he had been microchipped.
Benny and Susanne received a message from Pet Watch informing them that Rayne Beau was at the Placer SPCA in Roseville, where he had been brought in by a woman who found him wandering the streets in very poor condition.
Roseville is about 145 miles northeast of Salinas, but along the path the cat might logically have traveled.
The Anguianos are unsure how Rayne Beau traveled such a distance, across several states. They hope that someone encountered him along his journey and can tell them about it.
In the publicity over the cat’s return, the Anguianos emphasized the importance of microchipping pets. Watch the short video to learn more.

Thank you, RV Travel! 🙂 Dogs #1, #2, and #3 all had/have microchips. Agree is a great idea and important to know its value. Thanks again, have a great week, safe travels, and safe stays! 🙂
Good thing the cat wasn’t lost in Springfield Ohio. 🤣😅😂
All my pets have been chipped, only have 1 pup left tho. I’ve paid for my kids to chip their pets too, it isn’t very expensive really. Lucky folks to get Rayne Beau (love that name!) back. That must be one tough kitty. Beautiful boy.
I don’t believe the cat walked all that way by itself. I think someone found and adopted him and he escaped again in Roseville or thereabouts.
