Chase alligators and glamp – $19.5M Florida resort coming

If Florida’s Disney World is too smooth and sparkly, perhaps you’d like something a little more adventurous. Not far from Disney World you can jump on an airboat and have a real adventure. Ride about and get close-up with genuine—not animatronic—swamp creatures. But don’t rough it too hard—soon you may be able to chase alligators and glamp.

A new, $19.5 million glamp resort is said to be coming to Orlando.

Pump adrenaline, then relax. Chase alligators and glamp

Boggy Creek Airboat Adventures calls 34 acres of lakefront home. It’s just 35 minutes down the road from Walt’s Florida kingdom. While the Walt Disney group may delight you with their Magic Kingdom, Boggy Creek may delight you with a look down a ‘gator’s snout. But at the end of an adventurous day, Boggy Creek’s boss wants you to really relax.

Chris Park is now half-owner of the airboat tour company. And with that new ownership, he brings big plans. Park says he’ll expand the attraction by investing $19.5 million to build a 50- to 60-unit high-end glamping resort.

Just when can you chase alligators and glamp in Orlando? Completion is expected within the next 12 to 18 months. “This investment will further solidify our local footprint and position us at the forefront of the luxury glamping trend,” Park explained.

Alligators, butterflies, and what?

Founded in 1994, Boggy Creek Airboat Adventures provides visitors with Real Natural Florida airboat tours in search of the American alligator. The park also offers a variety of experiences.

How could you pass up an on-site BBQ restaurant, a Butterfly Exhibit, a Tiki Bar, and Gem Mining? A separately ticketed Native American Village helps visitors learn how indigenous peoples survived in the swamp.

Boggy Creek is open seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., offering a range of activities including corporate outings, birthday parties, educational programs, weddings, sunset tours, and nighttime airboat rides. Click here to learn more.

Thank you, Russ and Tina! 🙂 We went to Florida in February decades ago to see manatees, and we did. Our last day (or was it our penultimate day?) We went for an airboat ride through several swampy acres. The boat was amazingly loud (seems they gave us ear protection to wear during the ride) and we saw lots of aligators. Never got much closer than 30, or more, feet, but had a great time. 🙂 This proposed resort sounds like a place with no campsites for the hoi polloi such as moi. 😉 Thanks for the warning! 🙂 Have a great day, safe travels, and safe stays! 🙂
