Damaged wiring leads to recall of 2025 Brinkley RV Model Z units

Just why workers skipped using a wiring harness and opted for individual wires isn’t clear. But the result now is that Brinkley RV (Brinkley) is recalling certain 2025 Model Z trailers. The electrical wiring may not be secured properly, which can result in damaged wiring and a short circuit. A short circuit increases the risk of a fire.

Dealers will secure the electrical wires, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed in August 2025. Owners may contact Brinkley customer service at 1-574-501-4280. Brinkley’s number for this recall is REC-2503.

Background

A Brinkley dealer doing service work found pinched wiring under a holding tank. The dealer reported it to the Brinkley mothership, and an investigation began. In its report to NHTSA, Brinkley said, “Units in the recall population were built without the standard wire harnesses utilized by Brinkley RV.

In place of the wiring harness, individual wires were ran[sic] in the recalled units. In certain circumstances, these individual wires may migrate below holding tanks, creating a pinch point between the tanks and underlying support members. Products not included in the recall utilize wire harnesses for the subject wiring.”

How might you know if you have one of the recalled units? You may find electrical components, or even systems that just won’t operate. That could be an indicator that you’ve got pinched wires.

Thank you for the news, Russ and Tina! Wow! Even Brinkley?!? I must commend them for moving so rapidly, even sending letters this month. Unclear when Brinkley actually learned of the problem, but bmost manufacturers seem to send letters several weeks, or longer, after RV Travel (usually Russ and Tina) reports the recall. Have a great day and safe travels!
