FMCA to return to Indy next summer

Family Motor Coach Association (FMCA), an international organization of motorhome owners, has announced it will return to the Indiana State Fairgrounds in Indianapolis, for its 96th International Convention, July 12 through 15, 2017.

fmca-750The last FMCA event held at the facility was in August 2012, and attracted 2,000 families. “The state fairgrounds there easily accommodated our needs in terms of parking for thousands of motorhomes, and it provided plenty of space for motorhome exhibits and indoor vendor displays, as well as facilities for our many seminars and other activities. So, we’re looking forward to a return visit to this fantastic venue,” said Charlie Adcock, FMCA national president.

“Indianapolis is within a day’s drive of 70 percent of the U.S. population, so that makes it an ideal spot for a gathering of motorhome owners from across North America,” said Jon Walker, FMCA national senior vice president and chairman of the association’s Convention Committee.

The motorhome showcase at each FMCA convention draws major motorhome manufacturers and dealers who show their latest models for would-be buyers. In addition, hundreds of companies set up displays of RV components and accessories, home products and RV-related services.

Attendees can take part in seminars about topics ranging from towing a vehicle behind a motorhome to microwave-convection cooking.

RV owners are invited to bring their vehicle and stay on-site to enjoy all of the activities. Those who don’t yet own an RV are welcome to come for a day to just explore the motorhome show or purchase a passport that allows them to take part in all activities (with no RV parking).

Registration for the Indianapolis event is expected to begin in late winter. Meanwhile, FMCA is currently taking registrations for its 95th International Convention, set for Rawhide Western Town and Event Center in Chandler, Arizona, near Phoenix, coming next March 7 through 10.
