A Forest River fifth wheel recall will affect 429 RVs. Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2015-2017 Sanibel SNF3550 and 2021-2023 Sanibel SNF3902WB fifth wheels. The hitch (pin box) may not be sufficient for the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) and may fail. Failure of the hitch increases the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Dealers will install a properly rated hitch, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed March 27, 2024. Owners may contact Forest River Customer Service at 1-574-862-1025. Forest River’s number for this recall is 49-1737.

And the “hits” from Forest River keep coming.
Yes they do.. it’s a race to the bottom and F.R. is leading
At least wasn’t a serious one…just the pin box breaking off. 🙄 Hmmm…I think that WILL result in a crash…not “may!”
Thank you, Russ and Tina! As someone noted in yesterday’s newsletter, it is good the Forest River is owning up to the production shortcomings. Alternately, it is bad that they keep having production errors that warrant recalls. Safe travels! 🙂
That recall 573 report was amended on February 28th to REMOVE the 2015-2017 model years because that was an error. Recall 573 Report – 2/28/2024 B
Chronology :
On February 22, 2024, the manufacturing division provided weight sheet information to OCC that demonstrates that the 2015 through 2017 Sanibel SNF3550 has a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (“GVWR”) of 15,500, which is the same as the pin box. Separately, OCC reviewed weight reports of 2015 through 2017 Sanibel SNF3550 and found that this model does not exceed the GVWR of the pin box. It is determined that the 2015 through 2017 Sanibel SNF3550 was erroneously included in the campaign whereas it should not have.
wow…just, wow.
