Forest River recall: Bad wiring install could cause trailer fridge fire

The wire connecting the 12-volt refrigerator was incorrectly wired to the constant hot side of the breaker when it should have been terminated on the overcorrect protection side of the breaker, allowing the wire to melt, increasing the risk of fire.

Forest River has notified owners, and dealers will correct the wiring, free of charge. The recall began November 19, 2019. Owners may contact Forest River customer service at 1-260-499-2100. Forest River’s number for this recall is 76-1109.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153).

While you may not own one of these RVs, if you know someone who does be sure to tell them.
