Furnace experts share inspection and maintenance tips for RVers

Join Zach and me on YouTube as we take you through the basics of an RV furnace inspection, ensuring your system runs safely and efficiently for all your adventures.

Regular furnace maintenance is crucial, especially before the colder months. In the video below, we’ll talk about things we inspect such as key components, including burners, vents, and electrical connections. We’ll explain how to check for blockages, rust, or debris that could hinder airflow and efficiency.

We talk about pilot light troubleshooting, gas leaks, and when it’s time to replace worn-out parts. Simple maintenance steps, like cleaning dust buildup and checking for loose wires, can help extend the lifespan of your furnace and prevent costly repairs.

Don’t let furnace issues leave you in the cold! Tune in to our video RV furnace inspection guide and gain confidence in keeping your RV’s heating system in top shape.

Dustin- you hit the biggest issue with RV propane furnace maintenance. Highly restricted access is very common, and it can (often is) be quite time consuming to remove the furnace for simple work, reinstall it and verify there are no propane leaks.

I routinely vacuum or blow out what I can and pray that will be enough. I had to replace the control board on one compact unit. It took me less than 10 minutes to do that, but likely 3 hours between start and finish. In my opinion the typical RV propane furnace is a poor engineering design.
