Keystone recalls trailers: Sidewall may detach during transit

Keystone RV Company (Keystone) is recalling certain 2024 Springdale 245ML, Hideout 24L0F, Aspen Trail 260THLOFT, 360THLOFT, and Colorado 360THLOFT travel trailers. The metal sidewall may be incorrectly attached and come loose during transit. As many as 393 travel trailers may be affected by this safety recall.

Loose sidewalls that detach during transit can create a road hazard, increasing the risk of injury or crash or worse.

Remedy

Dealers will install additional support, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed August 30, 2024. Owners may contact Keystone customer service at 1-574-535-2100. Keystone’s number for this recall is 24-456.

Another recall. But it’ll be another 1 1/2 months before we notify you of it ?? More sloppy RV builds again & again.

How many more ways can an RV Mfg screw up?? Is it not embarrassing to the industry for such stupid recalls?

Thank you, RV Travel! 🙂 Well, … seem to be numerous recalls by various RV manufacturers, with a few frequent offenders. Sad, annoying, dangerous, sloppy, careless, … . 🤔😯 Mr. Dorfman must have graduated and become the CEO of Forest River (https://youtu.be/iKS0GVvoE9I?feature=shared) or is it another of the frequent offenders? 🤔😯 Their apparent ineptitude does make one wonder. Thanks again, RV Travel, have a great weekend, safe travels, and safe stays! 🙂

A detached sidewall may be a road hazard after it lands, depending on where it lands. Meanwhile, it is a flying hazard! 🤔😯🙁

Can you provide the rational from Keystone for waiting until Aug 30th to send out notifications to the owners when the problem has already been identified? I’m also curious as to why the NHTSA would allow such a late notification. Thanks.
