Consumer advocate Liz Amazing (her real name) goes to bat for a couple whose repeated attempts to fix their new but defective $250,000 Jayco motorhome failed.
In the video, the couple explains that even when they were able to get the RV in the shop, most repairs failed a short time later. As a result, after a year of ownership, the motorhome had spent half its time in the shop, unavailable to its owners.
Liz has traveled with RVs for decades. Her YouTube channel took off in the last year when she began soliciting horror stories about her viewers’ defective RVs. She would then contact their manufacturers to convince them to fix or replace the rigs.
Now with nearly 150,000 subscribers, she is able to bring considerable public attention to quality issues that manufacturers could ignore in the past without feeling heat from consumers.
There’s a happy ending to this video, but the RV owners had to endure much disappointment, frustration, and ultimately come away disillusioned with a lifestyle that they trusted would fulfill their dreams.

Grand Design (finally) fixes defective RV, but Lippert deflects blame
Consumer advocate Liz Amazing reports a happy outcome for one couple after a battle with Grand Design over frame failure on their fifth wheel trailer. But she also discusses the frame’s builder, Lippert, which deflects blame on the problem. Read more and watch her video.

Magnuson Moss Warranty Act.
Find a good independent repair shop.
Get an Attorney and stop going to the dealer. Most of them have 1 certified tech and the rest are his minions that have little mechanical ability. Read your warranty! If they can’t fix it then you should be able to take to an independent shop.
Thank you, RV Travel! 🙂 I watched/subscribed to her channel before she started this focus. I have no idea of how many subscribers she has gained, but she clearly thinks that she has acquired enemies. That was the reason she cited for trading the RV that had been promindnt in her earlier videos. Whatever she acquired has been kept far from her video camera. Perhaps Lippert is coming around, given that an earlier reference to them in one of her”owner’s problems” videos was met with a “cease and desist” letter. She makes no reference to any more recent ones. She is providing a helpful advocacy by encouraging viewers to take to social media to decry the inaction of manufacturers. …
… Thanks again, have a great week, safe travels, and safe stays! 🙂
I too believe that she is and should continue to be a conduit for unhappy consumers to pursue action using social media as the platform.
Section 32 protection somewhat limits her exposure for potentially being liable for comments by others and still allows those voices to be amplified thru her platform and following.
Happy trails Neal.
I think Liz does a great job. I hope sometime the industry changes but unless profits fall off it won’t happen. We need more advocates in our corner.
Ralph Nader was skillful in presenting facts, Liz is skillful at making monetized videos for clicks.
With YouTube, views pay the bills and since it’s an entertainment platform, honesty is optional.
The manufacturers and dealers leave a lot to be desired, I tell people that are looking that rv’s are all poorly constructed. And the warranty is pretty much garbage.
