It’s the holidays, and this is a big week for the holidays—they’re here!
Will you travel this week, or have you already traveled, for the holidays? If so, will you travel by plane? RV? Car? Or are you staying put?
When we say “travel,” we mean going somewhere where you’ll stay overnight for at least one night. We don’t mean driving 25 miles down the road to a family’s house.
For some, holiday travel means hitting the road in an RV, finding a campground or boondocking spot to create new traditions.
Others brave airports to visit loved ones, while some enjoy a shorter car trip to celebrate nearby.
And then there are those who stay home, enjoying the comforts of their space and hosting others instead.
Whatever your plans, vote and share your story in the comments. Will you be gathered by an RV campfire, navigating busy airports, or staying cozy at home? We’d love to hear how you’re making the season special!

Down for my Winter’s nap. All winterized and bundled up.
I try to never travel during major holidays. Twice the normal number of crazies on the highway.
Well not necessarily but you do you
Does going south for 4 months around Christmas count? It’s not specifically for Christmas, but we are sleeping in our trailer over the holidays…
YES!
Winterized until Spring 2025
We go camping on Thanksgiving, our kids are grown and go to their in-laws for thanks giving, but Christmas eve is at our house, and New Years we stay home. I have covered the “Holidays” this “week” is for Christmas, the birth of Christ, Merry Christmas to you all.
Was supposed to, but had a ladder fall and all I got for Christmas was a compound fracture of my ankle. Never usually home for Christmas, so it is nice to be home, but not under these circumstances.
Merry Christmas to all and a happy New Year. Thanks to RV Travel team for all they do!
I think RV travel should post an article on ladder safety…
The greatest cause of injury in older folks is thinking they are younger folks.
On the road in San Diego, so far away from the cold in Toronto!
Merry Christmas all!
See you in San Diego.
Welcome to my world Leonard !
You too kenn!
Home for the holidays. They’re coming to us this time!!🎅🏼🎄🙏
According to the rules, the answer for us was ‘no’. But one of the reasons we travel 1,700 miles south for a half-year to a specific location is to be with family members over the holidays. We arrived in early November before snow flew in the north and will return when the snow is gone. Our family is 36 miles from the RV. We will drive there on Christmas Eve morning and likely not return to the RV until the day after Christmas.
Chasing the warm! Two and a half months travelling around Florida, beginning 12/14, back home to Arkansas 3/1 (or there abouts) pulling our Alliance Delta! aka “Drifter”…
Hello FamALLY! Paradigm here. If you visit Ichetucknee Springs State Park between 12/29/24-2/28/25 on the north side (best side 😉) you probably see me and DH.
No I won’t be going home for Christmas but I wish I could. My parents are gone and the childhood home I grew up in has been torn down. The sad Christmas song that always brings some wet stuff to my eyes are found in “I’ll be home for Christmas” as follows, Christmas Eve will find me where the lovelight gleams. I’ll be home for Christmas if only in my dreams. What I wouldn’t give to say to my parents, once again, Merry Christmas!
Thank you, RV Travel! We hosted Christmas and traveled for new year’s eve. Happy new year and safe travels! 🙂
