You know what a junk drawer is, right? We think everyone has a junk drawer. Think about the one drawer you don’t really organize—you just… open it, toss things in, and close it quickly.
For today’s poll, we want to know if you have a “junk drawer” in your RV. Not your house, just your RV.
For those of you who do have a junk drawer, we’re guessing it holds just about everything random: spare batteries, mystery cords, random screws, old receipts, rubber bands, flashlights that may or may not work, and at least one thing you don’t remember owning. It’s not messy, it’s strategic chaos. Right? Wink.
Others swear they don’t have one… but if we opened every cabinet, would that still be true? In a small space like an RV, junk drawers sometimes disguise themselves as “utility drawers,” “catch-all bins,” or “temporary storage that’s been temporary for three years.” Just admit it: It’s a junk drawer.
Then there are the organized types. No junk drawer. No chaos. Everything has a place, a label, and a system. And honestly? That’s impressive. Slightly intimidating—but impressive. Good for you!
So what about you? Do you have a junk drawer in your RV, or are you living the clutter-free dream? Go ahead and vote in today’s poll—and if you’re brave enough, tell us what’s actually in yours.
Oh, and if you do have batteries in your junk drawer, be careful, as they can start fires. You should always keep extra batteries in a battery storage case. Be safe!

I have my “Hoard Drawer” that serves as a repository for my meager accumulation of “stuff”. No, I don’t know why I need 500 rubber bands but hey, I can always toss them if the zombie apocalypse comes, right? Or at least half of them….
Our ‘junk’ drawer is half filled with dog stuff!
Gross.
Our puppy is a 210 pound European Great Dane.
He has his own drawer, cabinet, toy chest, and bed.
Hi, Dr. Mike. It’s nice that your pet horse… er… dog lets you in his RV.🤣 Are you going to send us his picture sometime? BTW, I looooove big dogs! Have a great day! 😀 –Diane at RVtravel.com
Yes, the bottom drawer in the kitchen. Also, the smallest cabinet door under the countertop for the larger stuff.
Tools, batteries, silicon tape, fuses, wall wart, usb cables, measuring tape, painter’s tap.
Sadly, all of my drawers are junk drawers! Time to get organized 🙂
Of course! That’s where we keep anything important. Except for all the other places we keep important stuff….
Of course. We’re waiting for our new travel trailer, so the junk drawer contents are in a box in the house. I sorted them yesterday and, surprisingly, the only things I sorted out were a couple of extra markers, and mini screwdrivers that I moved to the toolbox.
When we can’t fit more into the designated drawer, next rainy day the project is to reorganize the junk drawer. Must be something we can grudgingly dispose of!
I have three junk drawers! 🙂
My kinda Lady..
Yes we have one. Is everyone else seeing the ad for the perfect thighs about 5 plus times in every story like I am??
im trying to figure out what kind of message it’s sending… do I need to show my wife the ad or look for a different wife?
We don’t have a junk ‘drawer’… we have 2 junk ‘chairs’. The seats flip up and there’s storage space…
Yes, Rescue tape, small auto bulbs, fuses, small channel locks, a ratcheting screwdriver with bits, small rubber bumpers that I got from Winnebago that sometimes fall off. Screws.
No, we have a junk box in the cupboard, too much stuff to keep in a drawer.
I have several “junk drawers” – lol
I actually cleaned out the junk drawer. I bought a small plastic container w/locking lid and placed it under the dining seat, so I am even able to retrieve it when I’m outside.
While I said yes, it’s not a “Junk” drawer. The word junk would indicate of no value and that is not the case. I keep spare fuses and other spare parts in and some tools in it for quick access. I also have the “not sure where to put it” stuff in it, but I actually know what is in the drawer.
Nope. One of the benefits to a smaller Class B+/C motorhome is that we have neither the room nor the carrying capacity to bring things we don’t need. It forces us to stay organized, which I like.
My house, on the other hand, is a disaster!
Not enough space for a “junk” drawer!
Not a drawer but the top of a locker next to the door. If I can’t find something, it’s probably there.
Not enough drawers or space to have a junk drawer. I do have a junk bin I carry in the bed of my truck (tow vehicle).,
I said no because we don’t have just one,
Yes. And it is almost as big as the one in our sticks and bricks.
Only one Junk-Drawer? Ha! I think three right now. I’m working on consolidation in a new tool box.
Haha! No drawers in our TT. And not enough room for junk.
No junk drawer, but we do have a junk basket!
Not a junk drawer but three 1.5x10x15 divided compartment parts totes in the rear cargo hold.
Our “junk drawer” is the collection of all the remotes (about 14), batteries, and a few odds & ends. Other than that, the drawer is pretty much empty.
Now we do have a dog drawer and cabinet. His dry food is kept in the basement. His toys are kept in a plastic bin under the kitchen table. We also convert a full-size couch into his bed and keep it covered so he does not destroy the fabric.
Heck no! Every drawer in my camper has a purpose, I don’t have enough as is.
Oh yes I do. However I reorganize it frequently so I can get rid of the actual junk and take stock of what’s in there. That thing is amazes my husband because when he needs something I almost always have “it” in that drawer.
