Do you plan to make a New Year’s resolution that you will stick to?

In last Saturday’s poll we asked if you had accomplished your New Year’s resolution for 2020. Now we want to know if you’re making a New Year’s resolution for 2021 that you’ll stick to (er, try to…)

Last week reader Abe Loughin left a comment saying, “In 1987 I made a new years resolution to never make another one. I am proud to say that I have kept that resolution for the past 33 years and plan to make it 34.” Ha!

Another reader, Tom B., wrote, “Nothing beats a fail, but a try. And it takes the exact same amount of time to fail at something as it does to succeed.” That’s a great quote, Tom!

Please vote in the poll below. If you’re comfortable sharing, tell us what your New Year’s resolution for 2021 is. Thanks and Happy New Year!

On making New Years Resolutions !!!
My number 1 priority is my health , from there I reach out to others .
Volunteering at local food banks , habitat for humanity , pickup up litter,
help in my community recycle program.
It is so rewarding for me to help others. It’s hard to describe but the feeling I get inside me , just makes me want to help more !!!!

Happy New Year !!!!!

Yes. Lose weight. Work out everyday. Curb my language. Smile at everybody, no matter how rude and self-centered they act, and most of, quit lying to myself.

The easiest way not to break a New Years resolution is not to make one. If I made one I’d forget it by Sunday unless I wrote it down in which case I would forget where I put it. If I wrote it on the calendar on New Year’s Eve it would be lost New Year’s Day when the calendar was taken down and thrown away with everything bad that’s happened last year, so the best solution is don’t bother.

My New Year’s resolution many, many years ago, was this:

“I hereby resolve, on this 1st day of January, 1992, to MAKE NO MORE NEW YEAR’s RESOLUTIONS.”

And I’ve had no problem sticking to it ever since.

My resolution is to make it to next year’s New Years Eve. Guess we’ll have to wait to see how that works out.

Same as last years. Be a “Happy old Man”. Volunteer, go camping, see America.

I will hike 1500 miles (1300 in 2020)
I will read several books (only finished one in 2020, sad!)
I will camp 100 nights (more if Covid allows, 105 in 2020)
I WILL get the Fiver furnace fixed before next winter…

My wife and I have agreed to have a more positive look at life this year. We want to be grateful for all that we have and not focus on what we don’t have, we’re very fortunate, not in wealth, but in family and friends.
