Do you start each day with a cup of coffee?

Ah, coffee… that magical, delicious stuff that gets us through the day! Are you a coffee drinker? If so, do you start each and every day with a good ol’ cup of joe?

If you are a coffee drinker, how do you take your daily cup (or cups)? Cream and sugar? Almond milk, no sugar? Cream, caramel swirl? Hot? Iced? Shaken? Stirred? 😉

After you vote in the poll below please leave a comment and tell us how much coffee you drink on a daily basis (one cup? three? five?) and how you take it. We’re curious. And cheers!

2 cups in the morning, usually with a little creamer in the first cup, I enjoy second cup black. I have a third cup around noon and that’s it for the day. No caffeine after 1:00 pm for me. No day or morning would be complete without it.

I normally rise at 5:20AM week days (still working at 68). My coffee maker is set to start at 5:00. I make 8 cups (as indicated on the Carafe) and I drink it all by 9. My wife is a tea drinker only. She love the smell of ground and brewed coffee, but can’t stand the taste.

Yes! Outside on the patio with the family dog and a hot, black cup of coffee in hand by 5:30 AM. Always a second cup with breakfast after morning walk with the dog. Sometimes even a third cup of black coffee!

Always. 2 hot in the morning 1 iced at noon and 1 iced in the evening. My brother and I stationed in Europe together would make a 30 cup urn drink that and make a 10 cup in mister coffee and it would be gone before closing the office.

Although we like coffee, my wife and I always start our day with a cup of tea.

I start with a glass of orange juice while eating breakfast. Then when finished read the newspaper with a cup of coffee. Usually 2 cups daily.

Never have liked coffee. Hubby drinks it first thing in morning. I was an extensive Coke drinker for 30+ years which is how I got my caffeine. Once we changed our eating habits to organic and no processed sugar, I found Zevia which makes a cola and other flavors. It’s my first drink of the day and throughout the day.

Ahhhh, that magical liquid, coffee. A day can not start without a mug full of it. And some days I have a second mug mid afternoon. I prefer a dark blend and keep a good supply of it on hand at home and in the RV. I never buy the weak and watered down versions in restaurants or fast food places.

Didn’t drink coffee until I spent a year in Colombia. Kind of hard to not pick up the habit. Now, missing my caffeine means a headache for the day. Found that out visiting my aunt – she didn’t tell us she was giving us decaf until I told her I had a headache that was worse each day. Got some “real” coffee & it cleared right up.

I drank 15 to 20 cups a day – constant drinking. After years it got to my nerves and I was a nasty person.. I stopped cold turkey and got very severe headaches. Went to the doc for headaches and after questions she said it was because I was having coffee withdrawal. It was 3 months of withdrawal. Now decaf and tea.

We live in a log cabin home surrounded by country pasture and woods. Wife and I have an oat cereal with milk breakfast and then retire to our den with many windows for viewing the outdoors. We each drink around two cups of black decaf coffee as we read together scripture and daily devotionals.

I drink a quart of coffee a day but it’s 1/3 caffeinated and 2/3 decaf.

After prostate surgery having belly cramps, mentioned it to doctor he asked how much caffeine I drink. Told him at least 3-4 mugs in the morning, he said to drop the coffee. Well it worked but missed my morning coffee, tried drinking 50/50 getting along just fine.

“Sometimes” – in the winter, yes, in the summer “sometimes” – if it’s hot where we are (which is usually in AZ), then 4 or 5 mornings I don’t feel like it. If hubby makes it, I save it for later and add ice cubes and have iced coffee! 😉

My wife and I will go thru a 12 cup pot daily. I set a timer the night before and start as soon as we get up. We will have some times one or two cups in the evening. We drink ours black, but occasionally a flavored ice coffee will do.

One cup per day the first thing in the morning gets me going. I never add anything to it. One exception if i am out in a restaurant and the coffee is bad I will add some cream or a little bit of sugar to it. I am still looking for the best tasting brand of coffee.

Wondering what folks think is a “cup” of coffee. I drink 2 mugs every morning. 2 “mugs” is the same as 4 “cups” using the graduations on the side of the coffee maker.

I learned over 40 years ago that the caffeine in coffee triggers migraines in me. Horrible ones. But that’s okay-I really never cared for it anyway. If I splurge on an Irish Coffee after a good meal in a restaurant, I’ll strongly emphasize my need for decaf, and they always oblige. But give me a good cup of tea any day!

I drink green tea and chamomile tea every morning with my meal. Chamomile has the opposite effect on me and wakes me up. Now drink black coffee after walking the doggie. It’s my “dessert”.

My husband is a coffee snob. He makes his own blend using 2-3 different beans from Costco and grinds them every morning. I have one large mug to start each day, with cream or it upsets my stomach. His coffee has spoiled me for anything in restaurants so I don’t bother.

No… having been a 10-15 cup a day coffee drinker – I am now down to about 1/4 cup at noon! This change came about because my great grandkids (7-9) wondered why my teeth weren’t white. (Guess I never really paid much attention to that!). I do have a 1/2 to full cup of green tea after supper. (Darn kids notice everything and comment without fear!)

Greg

3 – 14oz mugs every morning, with french vanilla creamer. I use plain old store bought pre-ground coffee and i love it. When camping I brew a pot with my decades old percolator, and I finish the pot. It’s the best time of the day! Since retiring I have switched to half regular, half decaf.

I’m an early riser and every morning I drink 5-6 cups of black coffee. I need it to get myself started for the day. In the unlikely circumstance I find we are out of coffee, I wait for my wife to get up and give me a passionate hug and kiss. That really starts my day!

Hi, Terry. Out of curiosity, I just Googled it. I think it’s Crio Brew, and this is from their FAQ page online: “WHAT IS CRIO BRU BREWED CACAO? IT’S NOT COFFEE | IT’S CACAO: Roasted, ground, and brewed like coffee, Crio Bru Brewed Cacao has flavor and aroma of unsweetened pure dark chocolate. Instead of coffee bean grounds, it’s 100% pure ground cacao.” (Sounds good!) Have a great day. 😀 –Diane at RVtravel.com

I am addicted to coffee. At one time in my life I drank 20+ cups a day but I am down to 2-20oz cups a day. If I don’t get my coffee, I suffer from withdrawal and end up with a migraine. My migraine medicine has caffeine in it. I always have more than one bag of coffee at home and/or in the RV. I gave up coffee one year for lent and my wife told me I was never to do it again. I use to buy my coffee beans in a 25 lb. bag and grind it myself. I drink it strong and black!

In the beginning of computer programming I was a programmer and had a 10 cup coffee maker on my desk and drank in excess of 30 cups a day.Since I am retired I limited myself to 2 cups a day while I read these news letters. Thank God they come out 7 days a week. I get up before other family members so I am not disturbed until I finish my coffee. I am a lot nicer person when I finish my coffee.

I do sometimes have coffee, but not very often. I usually have a cup of water and or a few swigs (DW doesn’t like orange juice, so I drink directly from the carton) of orange juice. Lots of days, I rise, dress to walk and then walk a couple of miles. Once that’s done and I’ve stretched, then I’ll take a handful of vitamins and supplements with a cup of water and then have a breakfast bar. Coffee is an indulgence, not something that I “need.” 😉
