Do you call your spouse or significant other “Honey”? A fun survey by The Black Tux breaks down the most popular pet names (like “Babe,” “Honey” or “Dear”) in each state. According to the 5,000 responses they got, the most popular pet name across the U.S. is “Babe” followed by “Honey.” You can see the full list broken down by geographic location here. It’s fun!
If you don’t call them “Honey,” what do you call them? Tell us in the comments after you vote. Don’t be embarrassed!

NO I know her name 🤣
Depends on what I want. If I need help it is mostly her name, but other things it is honey.
Ater 52 yrs. it seems to have paid off. LOL
My bride of 35 years is normally ‘baby’. And since I never command nor demand anything, there was one time two years ago I had an immediate Need and I called out, “Debi, I need you NOW!”, she knew it was urgent.
Never used honey in my life! We have more personal nicknames for each other. Sqwatch and Sqwatchi…long story tied to binge watching “Finding Bigfoot ” during a tropical depression that locked us in our home for days.
We just use our names. Been that way for over 40 years. Works for us.
Honey comes in a jar. Babe has worked for 34 years.
After 42 years, we use our first name 90% of the time. The other 10% I call him A****** and he calls me B****. LOL.
Never have called her honey. I use squeeze or cupcake. She answers most times! At one point the wife had a medical issue and was not fully conscious. In the ER as she was becoming alert the ER Nurse was asking her questions to determine her condition. When the nurse pointed to me and asked who I was the wife smiled and said “that’s my squeeze”. The nurse laughed and looked puzzled for a moment then realized that the wife knew me.
Love this story. Thanks for the smiles today.
57 years and we both use Honey; she less than me. We have never used Babe or Baby. That just doesn’t work for us. I use Sweetheart quite a bit, too.
I caii my “sweetheart” Sugar
I call DW by many enduring names privately, but publicly I call her by her first name.
No. We’ve been on a first name basis since we met.
My aunt always referred to my uncle as “Honey”, regardless of who she was speaking with. I always found it a bit annoying.
I call my wife dear. You all know, “YES DEAR”. 😃
I’ve called my wife “babe” for over 50 years. It’s what she prefers. I called her honey once and she looked at me like I was a stranger. LOL!
Darling, baby, honey. All 3 seem to elicit a desirable response.
Only when we are in an area with lots of bears.
OMG, Wallace!🤣 Have a great day. 😀 –Diane at RVtravel.com
Hmmmm. great idea.
Besides a few things I can’t post here, it’s “my love”.
Wow, never thot about it. We must have a dozen different names we call each other. Sometimes using words from a current conversation or circumstance. (We are word people and must have a dictionary near by during dinner.) When she says or does something just like her mother, I will say, “OK (her mother’s first name)”. That sometimes elicits a laugh and sometimes a scowl .
We call each other by our names. Terms of endearment are Sweetie and Sweetie Pie.
His mother and I call my husband, “Johnny”. If I need his attention even across a room, I just need to say in a distinct but normal voice, “John”, and he stops what he is doing and looks for me. It also works at times when I want him to know that there is no room for argument on this particular subject.
I have shortened her name from Carol to Car from time to time. I use Honey also under different circumstances. The seldom used Anky comes from her late brother who mashed together Ann Carol – her full given name. Not much anyone can do with Paul, those who try usually get asked to stop.
I selected the “often” choice, but it is more nearly “always” when not using her name. She reciprocates about as often if she fails to use my name.
