Which of these would you prefer for a quick snack?

It’s snack time! The best part (or parts) of the day! Do you agree?

If you were to go into the kitchen right now and grab a snack, what would you most likely grab? A piece of fruit? Some chips or some nuts? A cheese stick from the fridge? A chocolate chip cookie? None of the above?

According to statista.com, the most popular snack in the U.S. is cookies, followed by chips, ice cream, cheese or yogurt, sweets, nuts, chocolate, and dried fruit.

I too am diabetic. Be careful with fruits…high in carbs/sugar. A better selection would be nuts, and no, peanuts are not a nut.

I voted for “Nuts,” and that is often true. Alternately, I sometimes have beef jerky, particularly if I recently opened a package of it. When we are burning brush all day during the winter, it usually is both nuts and beef jerky that are my lunch. DW usually has nuts and a protein bar. That keeps us at the brushfire and not temporarily at the house and possibly out of sight of the fire. 🙂

All of the above. At the same time, with a bowl of ice cream. Then wash it down with a beer! Or two.

I like all of them but can only have certain fruit as a diabetic. I alway recommend to people to eat what you enjoy while you’re young. when you get older you never know what health issue might keep you from eating food you enjoy.

A cookie? Who eats just a cookie. Maybe a container of cookies but not “a” cookie.😂 Actually I prefer pretzels over most but my current go-to snack is Cheerios. Low fat, salt, and no sugar plus a good source of fiber.

I prefer chocolate for my snack – York mints, fun size 3 Musketeers, Hershey’s kisses, etc. “A cookie” ?? Are you kidding? How about 4 or 5 cookies, depending on how much they have been downsized over the last few years. I do like snack crackers – Crunchmaster, Gold Fish, Better Cheddars.

We rarely keep cookies, pie, cake, or ice cream in the house. Not that we wouldn’t like to!

Therefore, one of my favorites is to mix dried fruit containing raisins, cherries, and cranberries with a nut mix. Love the sweet & salty and it’s probably even halfway healthy!

I like an apple with peanut butter

Being allergic to dairy & chocolate has made it difficult to plan out snacks- I like nuts (did you know that pistachio is a source of complete protein like meat) Soft granola bars. Sometimes I tend towards low sodium – I find it difficult to eat chips, since the salt is so intense it practically burns my mouth. But I can tolerate pretzels fine. Since white chocolate is made with cocoa butter, and none of the cocoa itself I can eat that. Oat cereals and carrots, and sugarless gum- the act of chewing when growing drowsy on drives keeps dh and me awake. YMMV.

All of the above would work. Lately, I’ve been eating sliced apples dipped in a Nutella and peanut butter mix.
