If you’re driving down the road to your next destination, whether you’re driving through snowy mountains, desert dust, or city grime, your RV or tow vehicle’s windshield is bound to get dirty… and fast.
We want to know how often you clean your RV’s or tow vehicle’s windshield. Do you do it every night when you arrive at camp? In the morning before you leave? When you get gas? Never?
Go ahead and leave a comment after you vote. We want to hear what you have to say about those dirty windshields. Thanks!

Since I have a tow vehicle, the windshield will get a quick cleaning during a gas stop. I don’t go overboard since it’s going to get dirty again while traveling.
As needed while driving. Carrying a wet microfiber in a zip lock makes it quick and easy.
I clean my windshield at every fuel stop. I also clean the headlights so that they give maximum output at night.
Everyday or a couple of times a day depending on the bug population. And cleaning the nose of the 5er upon arrival at location. Hate bug guts everywhere
I wash my windshield before every travel day.
I wash and wax my TT twice a year. If dirty I’ll wash it.
When traveling, we will wash it and headlights at every fuel stop. My husband is in charge of refueling and I’m in charge of windows.
Probably not often enough
When we are traveling, I will wash the bugs off the windshield of the RV every single day. I learned that from my daughter-in-law who is an Air Force pilot. She told me the first thing the ground crew does when they land. The plane is a wash the windshield to get all the bugs off of it. She was told that if they sit in the sun, they’re much more difficult to remove.
EVERY time we stopped for gas.
Every time I’m waiting for the fuel tank to fill.
I wash RV windshield at least each evening and as necessary during day.
It depends on the time of year, number of bugs our windshield collects. I generally clean it at the end of each day of travel so the bugs are easier to remove. I also do the rest of the front cap if time permits for the same reason. The sideview mirrors also usually have the remnants of a few bodies, so i clean them too. Thank you for the question, RV Travel, safe travels and happy Easter! 🙂
If you’ve ever been in love bug season in FL you’ll need to do it a lot more often than at every fuel stop. Since I have a tt I didn’t vote. The Turnpike Rest areas used to have pretty powerful hoses you could use to rinse off your windshield. The love bug population has declined over the years and it’s not as bad as it was during the 1960s and 70s
