Did you know you can stay for free or almost free at many casinos around the U.S.? It’s true!
Some even have RV resorts and campgrounds on-site, while others offer just the bare minimum. Have you ever spent the night in your RV in a free casino lot? If so, please leave a comment and tell us about the casino and your experience there. Thank you!

Never stayed at a casino. To date, there’s not been one on our routes. Maybe one day
Ameristar Casino in Vicksburg charges $30 for full hook up. Has a nice buffet if needed.
Not last year, but in past years.
Never have, never will.
On our semi-annual migration, I hunted for two years in vain for an appropriately distanced spot with at least electric. I finally started looking at casinos. I found a small rural casino in an ideal location. They have 8 spots with 30A power. When I called, no reservations, 1st come can take. I asked about price – free, including the electric. We don’t gamble, but I do fill up at the tribe owned fuel station before we leave.
Never in the parking lot for free, but have stayed in the “pay” campgrounds of a couple. We don’t gamble; rather, have just used the campgrounds like any other.
Mystik Lake casino in Prior Lake, MN (Twin Cities Metro area) has an excellent campground, as well as other facilities.
The Black Mesa Casino is a day’s drive from Denver in our MH. 30/50A hookups and a water fill and dump for $20/night. It’s our go-to overnight 1/2-mile off I-25 south of Santa Fe when we head to Tucson in winter.
Thank you, RV Travel! 🙂 Nope, haven’t ever driven close enough to even see a casino, let alone found one that accepts RVs for overnight parking. I have read accounts of stays that even included utilities (power only?), but we have not been to such places. I think that staying at a casino would be interesting, if only to see how the inside of one appears. Thanks again and safe travels! 🙂
There’s three casinos along our annual 1500 mile snowbird migration route. They are all free to use, although two have full service RV parks if desired. The free to use areas are clean and routinely patrolled by casino security. They even have dog parks to exercise our mutt! We’ll spend for a meal or purchase from their convenience stores but won’t gamble.
No, but not for a lack of trying. We have stayed at a casino “RV Park” a couple of times…for a price.
I answered “yes,” though it was not in the last year.
Here, in StL, MO, we have a large and popular casino very near to our house. For kicks mostly, we drive down to the casino to check out the RV lot and see who is there. NO ONE. In six years we’ve never seen ONE RV parked there, overnight or otherwise.
Oops, that’s the Riverview Casino in south St. Louis County right on the Mississippi River, beautiful views.
Stay in a parking lot that has alcohol impaired people whooping and hollering amongst the terribly depressed down on their luck who lost money gambling? Not my cup of tea.
Not in the past year, but 2 or 3 other times. Good experience.
Free??? I can’t imagine there is such a thing. Never heard of anything free at a casino…
