Summer officially kicks off this Friday—are you ready to hit the road? Think about your upcoming RV plans. Will you be traveling more or less than last summer? Going farther? Hitting the road more often?
How many miles do you expect to put on your RV this summer compared to last?
Maybe you’re chasing cooler temps up north or finally checking a big national park off your bucket list. Or perhaps you’re sticking closer to home this time.
Some RVers tell us they’re traveling less due to fuel prices or campground costs, while others say they’re going all in and going farther than ever.
Whatever your plans, we’d love to hear what your summer looks like on the road.
Cast your vote, then leave us a comment with the details. We’re always curious to hear where the road is taking you!

Disruptive ads showed up, but no poll.
Hi, Tom. Well, that’s certainly annoying. As explained by one of our IT folks awhile ago, that could be because sometimes script blockers and ad blockers interfere with our polls since they are from a 3rd party site. If you have one of these try and turn it off and see if that fixes the issue. However, that wouldn’t explain why ads show up but not the poll. We’ve had about 700 folks participate in the poll so far this morning, and I haven’t heard about anyone else having issues, so it seems that it must be something in your device (although I’m about the least techy person there is so I really have no clue🙄). Have a great day. 😀 –Diane at RVtravel.com
Two extra trips planned this year. Ten weeks instead of six. This is proving too much and we will try eight weeks next year. Two weeks camping and two weeks between at home is proving too taxing for this old couple to get ready for the next two week trip.
With a house in a northern prime tourist location, we actually use our TT more in the winter when we migrate south. That said, this year’s summer will mostly be property maintenance, so we probably won’t put as many miles on the TT.
With fuel prices being the lowest since administration changes occurred, I’m traveling much more.
Been to the PNW lately?
We use our TT in October, January, February, and March. Rarely do we use it during the busy seasons.
0 miles. Sold it. Wife says she’s done. I’m screwed
Much fewer, but it has nothing to do with not loving RV travel. A major trip just didn’t work out this year.
Unfortunately we will be traveling less due to upcoming shoulder replacement surgery. (reversal) I will be having rehab (PT) for at least 3 months after spending 6 weeks in a sling. Once that heals I’ll need to have the other one done. Growing old sucks.
Hi, Roy. Yes, growing old sucks, but like I say, it’s still better than the alternative.😉 Good luck with your surgeries and we’re wishing you a complete and speedy recovery so you can get back on the road again. Have a good night. 😀 –Diane at RVtravel.com
At 72, we are going for our Last Hurrah. Of the 48 contiguous states, only 5 remain for us to visit! So we’re headed to the Pacific North West at the end of July. We’ll be gone 7 full weeks! 22 different campgrounds in 49 nights. The ones out and back from our home in Kentucky are single, don’t unhook nights, but the rest are 3-6 night sight-seeing stops. All reservations are finalized, and many tickets already bought online. Stops include national parks, several museums, steam train rides, factory tours, and just lots of fun!
I expect about the same—not enough.
Thank you for the question, RV Travel! Many, many miles. Probably 3 times as many. Have a great day and safe travels!
