Will you attend a county or state fair this summer/fall?

Fairs can be so much fun! Sure, they can be hot and crowded, but aren’t funnel cakes and hot dogs and baby goats and cows worth it? We think so! We think everyone should let out their inner child and go to a fair at least once a year, if they’re physically able.

Beyond the food and the animals, there’s something nostalgic about walking down the midway, hearing the bells and buzzers from the games, and smelling popcorn in the air. Whether you ride the Ferris wheel or just enjoy watching others take on the dizzying rides, the atmosphere is what makes it special.

And let’s not forget about the exhibits! From prize-winning pies to giant pumpkins and crafty quilts, fairs have a way of showcasing the best talents and traditions from the local community.

Do you have plans to go to a state or county fair this fall? Or have you already been to one (or more) this summer? If so, leave a comment and tell us which one (or ones) you attended.

If you’re attending an upcoming fair, also leave a comment telling us which one. We’ll be at the Washington State Fair next month… See you there!

P.S. Did we mention there will be hot dogs and funnel cakes? Oh, yeah!

If you enjoyed this RVtravel.com reader poll, keep in mind that we have polled our readers at least 5,000 times through the years. It’s fascinating to see how they have responded, sometimes very surprisingly. You’ll find an archive of some of the polls here. So what are you waiting for? Check ’em out.

I’ll be heading to the Great Geauga County Fair in Burton, Ohio. It’s the oldest county fair in Ohio.

I won’t say never, but we rarely do the rides anymore, livestock can trigger allergies (for sure the hay will!), most of the food is rather unhealthy and often lines at the porta-potties.

I’m shocked, Jim! You mean deep fried sticks of butter flushed down with a 48 oz soda followed by a Cotton Candy dessert aren’t healthy!!! 🤣

I’m an assistant superintendent of the Canning and Dehydrating dept. Our jar entries were up 42% this year, vs last. And our visitor count was up too! Best 10 days of the Summer!

If we come across one, we might wander in but we’re not planning one into our travel itinerary.

As I age, I have less desire to be in large crowds and fight traffic.

Thank you for the question, RV Travel! We almost did go to a state fair this summer, but it was about a week after we left the town (i.e., Palmer) that hosts the Alaska State Fair. Have a great day and safe travels!
