Are you way up north right now, scraping ice off the windshield and watching snow pile up outside your window? Or are you soaking up sunshine in the Southwest, Florida (unless it’s snowing!), or another snowbird hotspot and wondering why anyone would willingly deal with winter if they didn’t have to?
This time of year really highlights how split the RV world can be. Some of you are bundled up, managing frozen hoses, slippery steps, and short daylight hours. Others are sitting outside in a T-shirt, enjoying warm mornings, long afternoons, and the kind of weather that makes you forget winter even exists.
And, we know for many of you, where you are right now isn’t just about your preference, but it could also be about your plans, travel timing, work, family, or simply where life landed you this season.
Some of you chase the sun every year. Others hunker down and tough it out. And a few of you are probably somewhere in between, riding out a shoulder season with a little bit of everything.
Curious minds would like to know where you fall on the map today.
And please leave a comment. Tell us where you are right now and share a good weather story if you have one. Snowstorm survival tales and sunny-bragging rights are both welcome! Thanks!

High today 40…nothing over 25 for the next 10 days.
Just above zero, but that won’t be until midnight. This morning, it’s -22.
I had to laugh when I saw today’s poll. (Laughter is warming.) When I got up, it was -20 F and not expected to warm much today. This is not typical for Iowa, but it does happen occasionally. I’m looking forward to mid-February when we leave for Dauphin Island, AL.
Welcome to Alabama, where Dauphin Island is going toward 70 today.
I think the 1-30 range is a ridiculously wide spread. There is a huge difference between being outdoors when it’s 5 degrees and when it’s 25 degrees The high for today is 25 but that was at midnight. At 7 AM, it was 15, by noon it’s supposed to be 13 and by 5 PM, it’s supposed to be 7.
It is minus 22 degrees right now where our kids, grandkids and one of my sisters are. It was minus 29 degrees overnight. I no longer send them screen shots with the temp there and temp here- which is a cool 65 degrees above today. Usually in the mid seventies. They don’t think it is funny. Well, maybe just one more screenshot with my condolences.
33C or 92F, Costa Rica. No RV trip to the US this winter.🇨🇦
Today’s high in the Omaha area is 2F.
I am more concerned about Monday where it is projected to be 21F.
First time wintering in Florida. 54 here at 8:40 in Ocala. Not going to tell the friends and family in MA. Especially with the snow storm heading across the country.
-27 wind chill -50 we need to reconsider about snow birding instead of staying put. The only good argument about is a 11 year old granddaughter.
I posted earlier what the temp was now (8:50 am). it is going to be 80 today.
We’re in Abbeville, La. Almost a direct line west from Baton Rouge. Overall, great weather here, and affordable. Daughter and her family, adult grandkids on their own, great grandbaby on the way up in Shreveport. They’re getting hit with the cold and nasty. We’ll have one or two nights where I’ve got to unhook our water and use the onboard supply. Life is good! 67° for the high today.
Yep, winter storm passing through. Hopefully only one week and then back to nicer weather.
Today’s high is expected to be 78, that’s why I live on Florida’s west coast. We get 2 or 3 times a year when the temperature drops to the low 40s, upper 30s but the coat usually comes off by 9am.
Was -22°F this morning. High today is -8°F. -35°F to -45°F windchills. Brrrrrr!
For tomorrow it warms up…-1°F for our high! The next seven days are below zero mornings and single digit above highs.
Only good news is no snow in the FC. 🙂
81 F in central South FL just north of Lake Okeechobee cold makes me hurt more, but when I was mobile and the kids still in school would take my son or grandson north After Xmas to see snow and enjoy snow related sports like snow tubing or skiing. Those days were pre RV so we frequently used KOAs Kamping Kabins or other such campgrounds as offered a cabin alternative. Today’s activity is to open the house up for airing and possibly to water the basil.
62F with rain in south-central Texas (Hill Country) for Friday 1/23. However, the arctic front arrives on Saturday and we will get down to low-10s over the weekend into Monday 1/26. We won’t be wholly out of freeze conditions before Wednesday 1/28.
Other than burning fuel to stay warm, the issue in this part of the world is more how long it gets cold than how cold it gets. Water systems are buried only deep enough to drive over and often come above ground on the exterior of structures.
Approximately 60F here in San Diego where we are currently visiting friends. Back home in central BC on our lake, about 14F (which is warmer than expected for this time of year).
Lake Havasu City, AZ in the 70’s and we’re watching the balloon fest. Oh, and its nearly zero at home/home.
71 in Yuma. This is my last year to snowbird, so next year I’ll be back in Iowa, where it was -22 today (as the other Pat from Iowa has posted ).
Right now air temp is -5, wind chill is -12. Chicago burbs.
Our high for today happened in the very early hours this morning, currently it’s 46 and will drop to freezing between midnight and 4A.M. tomorrow (Saturday) and will not get above freezing until Tuesday, the 27th. We will be covered in rain/freezing rain/sleet/snow for several days. This happens every few years in Texas, us old-timers know how to handle it.
Cold is cold, but not compared to an ex-mother-in-law’s kiss.
58 degrees Southeastern Arizona
+82f today! In my dreams! It was -25f on my thermometer this morning and now “warming” to -10f for the high. Wind chills with a 25-30 mph wind = -50f to -65f! No break until maybe Monday when it is supposed to moderate into the +teens. On the bright side, we have minimal snow for the season so far. Less blowing and shoveling – I do have to do that today however from the last couple days of blowing around. (We try to just wear the snow out – north wind yesterday – no wind today – south wind tomorrow!). Anchorage and Fairbanks are warmer!
Minus 46 with the windchill last night. Today’s high, minus 37
Wisconsin- was 20 below zero this morning.
Sunny and 42 degrees in the Pacific NW. It was in the 20s this morning. We’re suffering—from lack of precipitation, actually..
12 and snow this afternoon in North Central Oklahoma
