Tour the 2024 Forest River Aurora Light 16BHX small, lightweight travel trailer

In the video below we join the team from Blue Compass RV for a tour of a small, lightweight travel trailer that still manages to pack in a lot of great features: the Forest River Aurora Light 16BHX.

This is a low-cost, entry-level RV with the option to upgrade to features not normally seen in this size or price point of a trailer.

For instance, I was impressed by the size of the fresh, gray, and black water tanks, which are larger than typically seen in this size trailer. That means longer boondocking times!

Inside is a practical floor plan for a small family, with a queen-sized bed up front and two bunk beds in the rear corner that sleep three. The sofa also sleeps two. That’s right, should you choose (and I wouldn’t), you could sleep seven people in this tiny trailer.

The flush-mounted two-burner stovetop in the kitchen is nice as it provides additional counter space when not in use. There’s also a microwave, a small fridge, and a single kitchen sink.

Weirdly enough, this video tour neglected to show us the bathroom, except for a quick glimpse. However, this trailer has a dry bath with a rather large shower.

More nice features of the 2024 Forest River Aurora Light 16BHX

  • Exterior JBL speakers
  • LED-lit electric awning
  • Black tank flush
  • Gas or electric water heater
  • 20,000 BTU furnace
  • 13,500 BTU air conditioner
  • Wired for solar

What’s not to like?

For a small, lightweight trailer, I do like this one a lot. However, the thought of even jamming seven people in here, let alone sleeping seven, is absurd. I would far rather the back bunk space be closets.

Thank you, Cheri! This looks like an RV that could fit into a clearing alongside a fishing stream. And the price won’t break most banks. 🙂 Thank you for searching, finding, and writing about these, Cheri! Buyers of RVs, especially first-time buyers, have potentially overwhelmingly large numbers of choices when RV shopping. These reviews allow one to much more easily navigate those numerous choices! Thank you! 🙂

I love it but am in the market for something like this without bunk beds. I have one similar and am trying to find someone to remodel the one I have now. Sigh. Know anyone?
