Upgrade your fifth wheel with Roadmaster Comfort Ride system

Join me “In The RV Shop” as I talk about upgrading your fifth wheel with the Roadmaster Comfort Ride system. The system is designed to improve the ride and handling of fifth wheel trailers by reducing shock transfer and vibrations. If you’re considering upgrading your fifth wheel suspension with the Roadmaster Comfort Ride system, here are steps you can take:

Research for compatibility

Ensure that the Roadmaster Comfort Ride system is compatible with your specific fifth-wheel trailer model and size. Check the manufacturer’s specifications and guidelines to confirm compatibility on their website.

Determine the components needed

Identify the specific components of the Roadmaster Comfort Ride system that you need for your fifth wheel. This may include air springs, shock absorbers, and other components.

Purchase the kit

These suspension comfort ride kits are typically available through Amazon, your authorized dealer, or through online retailers.

Gather tools and equipment

Prepare the necessary tools and equipment for installation. This may include wrenches, sockets, a torque wrench, and any specialized tools recommended by the manufacturer.

Installation process

Follow the manufacturer’s installation instructions provided with the Roadmaster Comfort Ride system. Installation steps may involve attaching the springs, shock absorbers, and associated components to the fifth wheel trailer frame.

Adjustment and calibration

After installing the system, follow the recommended procedures for adjusting and calibrating the air springs to achieve the desired level of support and ride comfort.

Test the system

Take the fifth wheel for a test drive to evaluate the performance of the Roadmaster Comfort Ride system. Pay attention to ride quality, reduced vibrations, and improved handling.

Regular maintenance

Familiarize yourself with the recommended maintenance procedures for the Roadmaster Comfort Ride system. Regularly inspect components, check air pressures, and address any issues promptly.

Weight distribution

Ensure that your fifth wheel is properly loaded and that weight is distributed evenly. Proper weight distribution contributes to the optimal performance of the Comfort Ride system.

Consult with professionals

If you are unsure about the installation process or encounter difficulties, consider consulting with RV professionals or authorized service centers. They can provide guidance and ensure the system is installed correctly.

Documentation and warranty

Keep detailed documentation of the installation process, adjustments made, and any maintenance performed. This information can be helpful for future reference and warranty claims.

Safety considerations

Prioritize safety during the installation process. Use proper safety gear, follow recommended procedures, and adhere to torque specifications to ensure the components are securely fastened.

Always refer to the specific instructions provided by Roadmaster or consult with its customer support if you have questions. Following the manufacturer’s guidelines and best practices for installation and maintenance will help ensure the effective performance of the Roadmaster Comfort Ride system on your fifth wheel.

Thank you, Justin! This seems an excellent idea. Because no one is allowed to ride in the trailer, the degree to which the road surface beats up a trailer is only known after arriving at ones destination and entering the trailer. My reading of this leads me to expect that this system will dampen the stress the road puts on the trailer. If true, then there should be fewer messes to clean upon arrival and the trailer may last longer. True? Thank you!
