Unusual motorhome renovation is a true RV man cave on wheels!

By Cheri Sicard
In the video below from Tiny House Giant Journey, we get a tour of DiNeil’s unusual, renovated RV, which he lives in full-time on the road. It is literally an RV man cave on wheels—the inside is filled with masculine touches and room for his massive shoe collection (46 pairs and counting). He even managed to fit a home gym inside of a tiny home space.

DiNeil had a background in design, and it shows in the way he maximized his space in a stylish way. He named his man cave on wheels “Vickie.”

Vickie started life as a 2016 Coachmen Aurora motorhome, and she still looks pretty much the same from the outside. However, step inside and you realize you’re not in a typical Coachmen anymore.

DiNeil had always been interested in the RV lifestyle, but when he lost his corporate job during the pandemic, that gave him the push to actually go for it.

He bought his 36-foot-long RV for $40,000 and added another $3,000 in improvements. DiNeil admits the process was both extremely challenging and rewarding.

He added five 200-watt solar panels to the roof and an extra hidden air conditioner. A large armoire hides a washer-dryer combo and a workspace desk. Artwork cleverly covers the electrical components.

Between the front driver’s and passenger’s seats sits a large, stylish box that serves as a table, but also holds a ton of shoes (one of our host’s passions).

The kitchen, with his wine rack and cocktail station, is like a high-class bachelor pad in a Manhattan apartment. There are lots of amenities including an electrical grill and a dishwasher, because what bachelor likes to do dishes?

Hidden behind his comfortable living room chair is a full workout weight bench.

The bathroom has a relaxing Zen feel, although I question the wisdom of adding rocks to it from a weight perspective. Ditto the workout weights he carries.

An Hérmes boutique was his inspiration for the over-the-top bedroom design.

Give the video a watch and see how much an ordinary RV can be transformed. Leave your thoughts about DiNeil’s creation in the comments below.

Thank you, Cheri! 🙂 It is really remarkable at how full his RV is. I immediately wondered how easily can he or a technician fix something that breaks? Also, full implies heavy. Heavy may not matter too much when parked, but how safely does it drive? Great that so much is velcroed into place, but lots is not. I admire how fully customized his RV has become, but also fear for his safety as he moves between locations. Thanks again and safe travels Cheri! 🙂

I live in Ventura California and if you own a motorhome over 25 ft or 8ft wide or 8 ft tall it’s forbidden to park on residentual and business Streets 7 days a week from 6 am to 6 pm, they just impounded mine for the second time in 3 months and left me standing on the streets with no where to go, I was broke down and they stiill gave me a ticket everyday , they will treat you like your a criminina just for owning one here, it’s really heart breaking
