The mighty, feature-full 2024 Jayco Comet 18C Class B van

In the video below, Isaac from Where RV Going? gives us a tour of the Jayco Comet 18C, a compact Class B camper van with lots of great features.

I was impressed with the large, rear wet bath with shower, folding sink, and cassette toilet. The toilet swivels, something I had not seen before, so you can find your perfect position. The decent-sized hanging wardrobe closet surprised me, too, as I have seen smaller closets in much larger RVs.

In the kitchen, I like the pull-out cutting board that sits on top of the top drawer, which instantly creates more food prep space. A 3-cubic-foot 12-volt fridge will keep food chilled, and a microwave and portable induction cooktop will cook it up.

Continuing the pull-out/pull-down theme, they put the space over the cab to good use, hiding the smart TV that simply pulls out and drops down when needed.

What’s not to like?

As with most Class Bs, the kitchen sink is just too small to do any kind of serious pot and pan cleanup, at least not without a struggle.

I have seen the single seat option like this one has in a few different Class B layouts, and I am not a fan. I think the space would be far more useful as additional storage and/or counter space.

I am also not a fan of the light-colored fabric upholstery. I am not sure of the conditions where you camp, but the way I camp this would be looking shabby in no time, more so if you have pets.

The bed cushions appear mighty thin and flimsy.

Thank you, Cheri! 🙂 There certainly was some thought put into designing this RV. I wonder if the engineers and designers actually camped or traveled in the prototype, given some of the choices? The single-seat area does seem odd, but may be due to the bed location, or the need of additional cushions for the bed. I could not be sure if any of the cushions comprising the single seat are used to create the multi-piece mattress. I also see that, again, fresh water capacity < gray water capacity and admire your restraint in not questioning this poor decision. 🙂 Have a great weekend and safe travels! 🙂
