In the video below, we join one of our readers’ favorite RV Tour hosts, Matt of Matt’s RV Reviews, for a tour of a tiny Super C motorhome, the 2024 Thor Magnitude AX29, an all-new floor plan for Thor Magnitude motorhomes. As usual, the lovely Andrea joins him.
Super C’s are one of the fastest-growing segments in the RV industry. Most of these highly powered motorhomes are LARGE, coming in at 38 feet or more. Not the 2024 Thor Magnitude AX29!
Matt says this concept has been around before on a Mercedes chassis, but this is the first model they have built on an F-550 chassis.
Surprisingly, Matt starts the video by firmly stating that he personally hates this motorhome. But he quickly follows with the fact that he is not the target market for it. And as we all know, there are many types of RVers and many types of RVs. He also admits that a lot of people have been asking for a unit just such as this. So, his personal feelings aside, there is a lot to like here, starting with the fact that you can navigate through the motorhome and use all of its features with the slide closed.
The bunk over the cab in this model is rated for 250 pounds. That doesn’t sound bad until you realize it used to be rated for 800 pounds. One thing I do love about this area, however, is the large automatic window that lets you star-watch from bed.
The back sofa automatically converts to a queen-sized bed with the flick of a switch. That Murphy bed is rated for 600 pounds.
Four people could comfortably dine at the large dinette that, of course, converts to an additional bed.
The large bathroom has lots of storage and features a large shower with plenty of headroom, although you will have to step up into it.
The kitchen features:
- 16-cubic-foot residential refrigerator with icemaker
- Stainless steel convection microwave
- 2-burner high-output gas range with single induction cooktop
- Large double-bowl stainless steel sinks
More nice features of the 2024 Thor Magnitude AX29
- Bedroom 110V outlet on inverted circuit for CPAP machine
- Side cameras
- LED-lit power awning with wind sensors
- Exterior TV
- Exterior propane quick connect for grill or griddle
- Tankless water heater
- 12,000-pound rated hitch (although Matt says you should tow no more than 10,000 pounds)
- Backup camera
- 1-piece TPL roof
- Dual 13,500 BTU roof air conditioners
- Onan RV QD 6000 diesel generator
- 100-watt solar charging system with power controller
- 1,800-watt inverter
- Water filter system
- Protected tanks with heating pads
- Black tank flush system
- Auto leveling
- Fireplace-style heater
- Insignia TV
What’s not to like?
While there are several outside storage bays, none of them appear to be pass-through storage.
As usual, Matt and Andrea talk about three things they like and dislike about the rig. For dislikes in this one, Matt says transitioning from the cab to the motorhome is a pain in the butt if you are a big guy like him.
The wardrobe closets are not full-length, so don’t be bringing your evening gowns.
I don’t like the framed abstract “art” behind the sofa. I’ll choose my own art, thank you very much.
In addition, Matt and Andrea did not like:
- That the city water connection is separate from the wet bay.
- The big step up into the shower.
- The sofa that converts to the Murphy bed is, in Matt’s words, “horrible.” He says it is stiff and uncomfortable. However, he also says it is a plus because it converts to the Murphy bed, so for certain folks, it’s a worthwhile trade-off.

Got about halfway through this vid and had to quit.
I scan most videos, stop, and play interesting parts, and shaky cellphone video I cannot watch without feeling ill. I have seen it done in some RV presentations, where the videographer makes a short overview of the product showing key features and then moves onto a longer more in-depth presentation for those having greater interest in the product. If not catching a person’s interest in the first minute or so of a video, many folks will not hang around. And long-winded labor pain speeches do not interest me, I want to see the quarter million-dollar baby.
Ditto Tommy! Hard to take these two. I usually skip ahead and around turn the sound off occasionally too!
I do just that same thing. I find these 2 hard to follow and to listen to.
Having had a Ford Super Duty 350 dually, I like the chassis. Inside is nice though I would have to lay on the Murphy to determine if I liked it. Never have been keen on sofa bed setup. I see it is a diesel however am curious if Ford allows use of biodiesel SB 5-20 which many stations are switching to? From a personal side, my basic concern is it is a Thor. Though Thor did come through for us with assistance to repair one of our leaking Class C’s (out of warranty), we’ve had leaking water over the cab in two out of two of our Thor ClassC’s. As narrator says, he hates it (I just dislike) but may meet a niche looking for smaller version of a Super C.
Thank you, Cheri! Matt certainly is entertaining as he begins each video by jumping into the air. 🙂 I briefly considered a Super C when researching the purchase of RV #2. The greater access to the engine that a super C has relative to even a DP with a side radiator was a strong attraction. DW quickly vetoed that direction without explanation. Ultimately, there was no need to debate because none of the available (2022) super Cs offered an escape door and ladder. Safe travels, Cheri! 🙂
A few ago, we looked at Super Cs from Dynamax, Renegade, and Jayco. The Renegade Veracruz has exactly the same 30′ floorplan on exactly the same Ford diesel chassis as this Thor Super C. Based on our research and recommendations from enthusiastic Renegade owners, we would highly recommend the Veracruz over any Thor/Jayco Super C product. Dynamax also has a similar Super C floorplan, but it is built on a Ram 5500 diesel chassis. However, the Dynamax offered a 4WD option that the Ford chassis did not offer at that time.
