2025 Vanspeed Summit custom Class B camper van is impressive

Looking for a customized Class B camper van? Take a look at the 2025 Vanspeed Summit.  I was impressed with this one, and if I were in the market for a Class B motorhome, it would be high on my list.

“With the Summit, we hope to change the adventure vehicle landscape, offering unparalleled comfort and livability at an unprecedented price. Vanspeed combines functionality with the on-the-go lifestyle to create a fully capable vehicle that can get grimy when needed while still being aesthetically pleasing,” says Duran Morley, owner and founder of Vanspeed.

Vanspeed brought the Summit to life starting with the standard 144’’ four-wheel drive Sprinter platform, ensuring the vehicle’s capability to navigate rough terrain and everyday driving conditions effortlessly.

This high-quality, dependable rig is prepared for anything, whether on- or off-road, without limitation, while still providing comfortable accommodation for travelers.

The Summit’s versatile living space seamlessly transitions from sleeping to dining and entertaining.

Vanspeed encourages off-grid experiences with its lithium power system, enabling electrical power even in the most remote locations. Built for adventure, there is storage to fully accommodate larger equipment such as surfboards, kayaks, snowboards, tents, bikes, and much more. This model also includes under-bed storage and an exclusive gear garage.

You might be way off-grid, but you will be living in style with premium natural maple wood paneling complemented by sleek black velvet accessories.

Upon opening the side door, you can fold down a small prep table. You can use it to prep food or cook outside on the included induction cooktop. In the kitchen, you’ll find a one-burner Dometic cooktop, a refrigerator and freezer, a microwave, and beautiful butcher block counters. The single Dometic sink and faucet fold down flat to make for extra counter space when not in use.

Hidden by a stylish retractable door, the wet bath contains innovations, too, like the fold-down shelves that provide extra storage when you are not using the shower. They did not say if it was a composting or cassette toilet, but it is one of those as there is no black water tank.

I love the sturdy side ladder that leads to the fully walkable roof deck. This would be an amazing space to sip a cocktail and watch the sun set…or watch the sun rise with morning coffee.

More nice features of the Vanspeed Summit

  • The “signature capsule” on the side windows gives about 10 inches extra of interior space.
  • Outdoor shower connect
  • Rooftop Dometic A/C
  • Maxxair vent fan

What’s not to like?

There are two gray water tanks: a 25-gallon one for the shower and a 12-gallon one for the sink. Remember you will need to empty both when dumping.

The mattress on the bed, while I have not tried it, looks pretty flimsy.

Like virtually all Class Bs, it’s pricey. Vanspeed touts it as being more affordable as it is under 200K, unlike their competition. But starting at 198K is not that “affordable” or different than the competition.

Thank you, Cheri! 🙂 These 4-wheel drive RVs are interesting. They seem likely to appeal to the generations in search of “experiences,” yet require considerable financial resources. I think that I would as much like to see the buyers of this sort of RV as the RV itself. Your column gives me a satisfactory level of the latter, leaving me intrigued about the former. Thanks again, have a wonderful day, and SAFE travels! 🙂
