2026 Keystone Coleman Light 21RX: It has everything I’d want in an RV

The 2026 Keystone Coleman Light 21RX delivers a compact footprint, a single power slide for extra living area, and basic but solid systems. I think it’s a small RV that manages to live large—it packs in everything you could want.

If you’re thinking about dipping your toes into the world of RV camping, or if you’re ready to downsize but still expect the basic comforts of home, this could be your perfect RV.

I was amazed at the practical nature of the 2026 Keystone Coleman Light 21RX. It has everything I want and nothing that I don’t.

Exterior highlights

  • Aluminum body with fiberglass sidewalls
  • A single power-retractable slide
  • Power-retractable awning
  • Generous pass-through storage for gear

Kitchen

I was surprised to see two entry doors on an RV of this size (25’5”). I’ll tell you about the second door later. Entering the main door, you’ll be in the kitchen. For its footprint size, this kitchen has quite a bit of storage, including five drawers and a pantry. I like the large window over the sink and the refrigerator’s black, stylish doors.

The inset cooktop adds to the prep space and there’s a combination microwave/convection/air fryer, too. I just wish it was positioned higher. I imagine it could be difficult to bend down and place a casserole dish inside the low appliance, but that’s just me.Screenshot

Dinette and entertainment area

The dinette is small but serviceable, with the TV mount above the table. Directly across from the TV are two recliners with integrated cup holders, perfect for relaxing.

The 2026 Keystone Coleman Light 21RX features upgraded vinyl flooring, which is easy to clean and helps keep the space light and bright.

Pass-through bathroom

Adjoining the living area is a pass-through bathroom. It offers plenty of space around the commode, but the shower looks to be a bit cramped. While the sink is small and lacks counterspace, it’s manageable. The medicine cabinet, open cubbies, and under-sink cabinet would easily contain my toiletries. I like that the bathroom has a functioning window for light and air flow.

Bedroom

The Keystone Coleman Light 21RX bedroom surprised me. Even with a queen-size bed, there is space for bedside tables on both sides of the mattress. The dual closets have space for a few hanging clothes. However, I’d exchange the closet pole for stacking totes, which would provide more usable storage since we rarely bring clothes that require hangers.

In addition to the enclosed under-bed storage, there’s cargo net storage that would be great for shoes and boots at the end of the bed.

Remember the two entry doors? Well, the second entry door is in the bedroom. The only benefit in my mind is that in an emergency, you wouldn’t have to struggle out a fire escape window. (If you’ve tried to do this, you’ll understand.) The door would make for a much easier (and graceful) exit in an emergency situation.

Yes, the television is mounted in an odd viewing position, but we never watch TV while in bed anyway. I’d replace the TV with a storage alternative, like shelving, perhaps.

Your take?

Overall, I like the simplicity of the new Keystone Coleman Light 21RX. It’s basic, yet functional. Even with a small floorplan, you can have separation to read a book while your travel buddy watches TV. The surfaces are basic but easy to clean. It’s a budget-friendly travel trailer that has everything you need for an adventure.

This is at the top of the list for a travel trailer I would buy if something happened to mine. I do not like slides and would be reluctant to own an RV with one but the layout, size, price and other features might convince me to try it again. The bed in my current one is a small double in the corner, which is fine for me and my dog. The larger bed might convince my friend to go with me once in a while, and it would increase future resale value. And, it has a rectangular kitchen sink!!! Blessings to whoever made that decision!

I wish for a second door at the back of the trailer to load in Bicycles or a canoe. and a portable TV.

I camped in a trailer with a similar layout – the second door was really nice if the people sleeping in the bedroom had a different sleep schedule from the people sleeping in the other area. Came in very handy!!!!!!
