If you’re an RVer, you’ve likely seen or even own one of those U.S. decal maps—adding a new sticker for every state you visit. For Camping World CEO Marcus Lemonis, his version of the map looks a little different. Instead of tracking road trips, it marks each new state where the company has established a presence.
Now, Delaware gets its sticker. Camping World has officially expanded into the state, making it the 44th to join the retailer’s growing nationwide footprint.
Hitch RV takeover means Camping World in Delaware
Camping World says it has closed on the asset purchase of Hitch RV. The latter company held three locations in Delaware, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey. “Upon the completion of certain facility renovations, the company intends to open these locations throughout the first quarter,” says a Camping World news release. Already Camping World has taken over Hitch RV’s website, giving it the Camping World logo.
Hitch RV was a family-owned and operated group of RV dealerships. They had been located in Milford, Delaware, Boyertown, Pennsylvania, and Berlin, New Jersey. The Milford takeover puts Camping World in Delaware.

Thank you for the news, Russ and Tina! Guess the city of Milford should examine their flag-pole-legal-maximum-height ordinance to see if it exceeds Camping World’s desired flag-pole height. 😉 That, or put the National Guard on alert. Have a great week and safe travels!
Hahaha.🤣
I will never buy from CW. Their warranty sucks. From first month thru next 18 months they could not or would not fix heater in my Coleman. Finally independent called, told him problem he came out and repaired it in 30 minutes. 300.00 dollars out of pocket. CW and their leadership would not reimburse for it. Two dealers had it for all three months during first 1 1/2 years. Owner says customer not happy he is not happy. More out right lies. It s nice camper, been to west coast to east coast.
I have no problem with billionaires per se, but POWER-HUNGRY (antitrust?) billionaires are getting on my nerves.
Wait for it….”It’s All Corporate Greed…” LOL! You KNOW it’s going to happen.
The beautiful thing about Camping World is that WE can choose to patronize or not. (Albeit, I often choose “not.”)
Metastatic behavior seen in Camping world
Imagine a help wanted ad for CW would be…
Wanted Sales Reps/Mgrs. Must be able to look customers in the eye and lie, speak untruths and bear false witness with brazen disdain and contempt. Total lack of conscience required but will train ex- used car and door to door window sales pros. Prior knowledge of RV’s, campers or camping and related gear not required. No relationship building and no repeat customers. Inquire at Camping World.
👍👍🤣 Thanks, Matt. 😀 –Diane
I wonder if Hitch RV had financial troubles. It hasn’t been that many years since they purchase the Berks-Mont Camping center in Boyertown Pa., and maybe this is their way to get out of trouble.
Camping World has picked another fight with another city over their flag pole again. Again, it’s being framed as the city being anti-American and unpatriotic, and the code enforcement agent is getting attacked.

Thanks, Ellen. Camping World/Marcus Lemonis has sure figured out how to get tonnnnnns of publicity for relatively little money. This has been ongoing for years, unfortunately. Have a good evening/night. 😀 –Diane at RVtravel.com
