Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2024-2026 East to West Entrada motorhomes. Due to an incorrectly wired 7-way harness, the trailer brakes may lock up when the RV’s brakes are applied. The operator may feel aggressive braking in a towed trailer, with electric brakes, when braking.
Trailer brake lockup increases the risk of a crash, which can lead to injury or worse. The recall was issued by the National Highway and Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) on August 22, 2025. This is the 25th recall Forest River has issued so far in 2025.
Remedy
Dealers will disconnect, cap, and mark the power wire as a tracer, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed October 1, 2025.
Owners may contact Forest River customer service at 1-574-264-6664. Forest River’s number for this recall is 504-1968.
If you have already paid for a repair that is within the scope of this defect under recall, you still need to have this recall inspected and/or performed to ensure the correct parts and procedures were utilized. You may also be eligible for previously paid repairs within the scope of this defect under recall.
The week of August 19, the supplier quarantined all inventory of the 7 way harness from the manufacturing plant and began developing a replacement 7 way harness. There were no vehicles in the manufacturing plant’s inventory at the time.

Thank you for the news, RV Travel! Well, I guess Forest River heard about the recent recalls by Ford and Airstream (Thor) and figured they had better match them or risk no longer being the most negligent manufacturer/assembler of RVs. 😉 Also, I did not understand the proposed “fix.” Are they fixing the problem, or simply making it easier for the owner to fix the problem? Have a great day and safe travels!
