More than 4,000 fifth wheels and travel trailers built by Forest River are under recall notice. Equipped with removable MORryde entry steps, these can come loose in use. Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2024-2025 Coachmen Catalina, Forest River Aurora, Cascade, Cedar Creek, Cherokee, Sandpiper, Sierra, 2025 Campsite Reserve, Impression, Pause, Puma, Sabre, Salem, Vengeance, and Wildwood fifth wheel and travel trailers, equipped with a removable step assembly. The clip-on bracket mounting bolts may come loose, allowing the steps to detach. Steps that detach while in use increase the risk of injury. This Forest River step recall covers 4,270 units.
Forest River step recall remedy
Dealers will inspect and repair or replace the clip-on bracket as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed May 24, 2025. Background
What’s behind the Forest River step recall? According to a Forest River filing with NHTSA, MORryde says, “This is a bracket that is used on the side of an RV that has a receiver for a removable step assembly to clip into. This receiver is installed using a thread locking fluid to retain the assembly. It was found that there were parts that did not have this thread locking compound installed during assembly. If the receiver becomes loose while being used, it can disengage from the bracket allowing the step assembly to fall from its use location. This has the potential to cause personal injury if the step is being used when this happens.”

Apparently not a problem with the MORryde steps.
Forest River did not install the steps per the instructions.
Where are the quality control people. Seems most FR recalls are improper assembly problems.
I had a Grey Wolf 22RR, and most of the problems were due to poor construction.
