If you own a certain Forest River trailer or fifth wheel and you just can’t shake the smell of your black tank, you may “nose” why.
Our first of two smelly recalls
Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain Coachmen Catalina BCAT154RBX travel trailers. The wastewater holding tank pipe may not extend to the exterior of the vehicle, allowing sewer gas to enter the cabin. Sewer gas inside the cabin increases the risk of injury. 27 of these units are affected by this recall.
Remedy
Dealers will extend the ventilation pipe, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed May 20, 2025. Owners may contact Forest River customer service at 1-574-825-4995. Forest River’s number for this recall is 203-1917.
Recall number two, for the “number two” smell
Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2025 Coachmen Brookstone BKF398MBL fifth wheels. Just another FR recall that should never have happened. Someone had to see the problem before everything was sealed up.
I can just imagine the damage to the interior that will be done to extend the vent pipe.
Thank you for the early notice, RV Travel! May is a long time from now and an even longer time to endure such odors. 🙁 Have a great weekend and safe travels!
