My feeling is that the covers should remain in place. They protect the tanks from the elements, my tanks are 5 years old and still look new. But mostly keep the UV light off the hoses. The rubber hoses will deteriorate much faster from the UV.
I had to read that 4 times before I realized the author was talking about propane tanks on trailers and not my black and grey tanks.
Need to be more specific next time.
Firstly, I didnt realize what you’re talking about and secondly, if propane, I don’t have any. Neither my current fiver nor my class c motorhome
My liquid tanks do not have covers

The covers are just window dressing to make the trailer look nice. Mine are off because they are a pain to remove when I need to refill. So IMO not yours mine are off.
