New sway bar debuts to improve handling in Sprinters

Hellwig Products has debuted an upgraded rear sway bar for the 2019 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 3500. The device is said to improve handling dynamics and driver control.

The new product offers a reduction in body roll and lateral sway when entering a corner. This is especially ideal for RV conversions which, in addition to heavier loads, have a higher center of gravity.

This improved control “allows the driver to feel more confident when towing,” the company said in a press release.

This rear sway bar fits the 2019 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter with dual-rear wheels in both rear- and 4-wheel drive configurations but will not fit front-wheel drive applications. The larger diameter Hellwig rear sway bar replaces the factory bar, reuses factory end-links, and comes with heavy-duty polyurethane bushings for additional durability.

Installed in a few hours with basic hand tools, the Hellwig rear sway bar (P/N 7777) for Sprinter 3500 is forged from solid 1 1/2-inch diameter, heat treated 4140 Chromoly steel bar stock and finished in Hellwig’s signature “Hammertone” powder coat to prevent corrosion and wear under even the toughest conditions.
