When was the last time you dined at a restaurant?

How long has it been since you dined at a restaurant? Was it back in March before restaurants started shutting down? Or was it recently, when restaurants started re-opening across the country?

What about indoor dining? Do you feel differently about dining indoors than you do dining outdoors?

Please tell us in the poll below, and leave a comment too, and tell us when you last dined out.

Just back from breakfast. We had dinner out yesterday. I eat out at least 4 times a week. Done in, not take out.

I think it was three years ago when we had pizza at “Silly Al’s” in Quartzsite. Uh, we don’t eat out very often.

We have a group of men from various churches who meet each Tuesday morning for breakfast. Right now, we can have 6 sitting together outside. So if there are more, we simply pull two other tables together, 6′ away from ours.

We’ve started back to OUTDOOR restaurant dining. The two things neither of us will do until this is cured are INDOOR restaurant dining or flying. Nope, just not going there…

My daughter’s birthday 2days ago. With waitstaff and barmaid 12 people in the whole place. We were 5 of them. I don’t know how they can afford to open the doors.

March 11, and carryout only three times since. We’ve saved a fortune by not sticking with our two to three times per week restaurant habit.

Survey’s never open.

Got tired of waiting.

Ate out Tuesday for lunch. Every other table is open, all were full.

Since March, we have had two or three outdoor “Happy Hours” with close friends and we had three take-out meals from restaurants. We don’t miss restaurant dining and don’t plan to do that again until the pandemic is well under control.

We usually eat in restaurants 2-3 x per week. Some have implemented social distancing and others have not. We’ve been eating out since the restaurants opened up again for eat in dining. Love it! Other days I use my instant pot for meals.

Since we left home for this RV trip on 6/15, we have eaten out twice (WY and MT). Before that…I can’t remember.

We eat out way too much. I love to cook but there are days when I am like seriously? No way. So we order out and go to a park with the dogs, eat and walk. Sometimes eat in. But I like eating outside when I can.

I wouldn’t eat inside no matter how far apart the tables are. For outdoors, I don’t trust restaurants to keep plates, silverware, tables, chairs, etc. virus free. The act of eating increases the danger of touching contaminated items.

Too little is known about the means of transmission. The science is far from settled.

Why do you feel sorry for “Irv?” That’s the way he feels. That’s the way a lot of people feel. Maybe he’s extremely “high risk.” Who knows. That’s HIS opinion. If I’ve taken this the wrong way, I apologize.

I am assuming that “eating out” does not include getting carry-out and eating it at home.

I can count on one hand the number of times we’ve eaten in a restaurant in the past 30 years. We’re much better cooks than your typical restaurant chef and we know exactly how our food is prepared, seasoned, and handled and the cost savings is immeasurable.

When you live in a state with a mask mandate, lower occupancy rates, bars closed, but live in a county that the city officials have said and proved numerous times that those mandates will not be enforced your choices are basically taken away from you. You still have to get groceries and other items your chance of getting it is there anyway, so going to eat in a restaurant is no different than anything else you do.

Today. But it is important to note that we chose restaurants that have outdoor eating which is usually some sort of patio.

Dined in or had take out? We have had take out several times this past month and are supporting the restaurants as best we can.

we dined out a few weeks ago when our state went to stage 2 (I think it is 2) but we ate outdoors on their sidewalk. We like patio dining anyhow. We are always in search of dog friendly patios. We’ve also parked our RV in the restaurants parking lot eating the piping hot take out food in our rig.

Sort of “dined out”. We made sure that we had dinner on the patio and that the tables were widely spaced. We are not ready to “dine-in” at restaurants even though our state, Arizona, allows it.

Rory R

When restaurants locally were re-opened as “take-out only, we drove our rig to pickup dinner, parked on the empty parking lot and “dined-in”. I got the idea from a post where some RV’ers who were feeling trapped decided to dine out in their MH. It was actually fun and got us out of the stick and bricks…

We both are tired of home cooking. We do get take out once a week. When we camped we brought all the food. Most restaurants were closed . We enjoyed the water and peace and quiet.
