In the last year, who most often cut your hair?

Ah, quarantine… We miss movie theaters and bowling alleys and indoor dining and, oh, of course, hair salons. Ohhhh, how we miss hair salons…

But, of course, the memes that came out of the last several months were so funny that they were almost worth the suffering…

And what were the hairdressers doing during this time? Well…

Anyway, now that you’re smiling… think back “fondly” on your quarantine haircut(s). Who gave them to you? If you have a funny pandemic hair or haircut story, please leave a comment and tell us about it. We’d love to hear it.

Didn’t see stylist for 5 months and got used to longer hair. I decided I liked it longer and now call my new look my COVID Cut.

Normally get it cut right before April vacation. No trip last April – no haircut. Longest it’s EVER been…

My wife was taught to cut hair by a hairdresser working on the TV series Petrochelli, many years ago. She cut my hair, the kids’ hair, band member’s hair and friend’s hair. She even cuts her own hair at times.

Been cutting my own hair since I lived in Alaska for three years with no barber. As long as I keep it a lttle long it looks pretty good. Could not do it if I tried to cut it short. Terry

best $35 ever spent?, hair clipper! i hate hair (i have a lot and it is hot, heavy and headache causing) so for the past 20 years i have been shaving my head. a lot fell out when i had cancer 35 years ago and it was the most comfortable (never got a wig) ever. kept it short but when a friend got cancer i shaved it off in support and now i put a 1/4″ spacer on the clipper, every other week i shave it and it is good. no more buying goop to spike my hair, or to use a curling iron and the curls only hold for an hour or two. my husband, he is bald!

DW did the first cut, a disaster. Since I had my haircut lady’s phone number I can now call her and go to her home if the shop has to close again.

As a poor graduate student I began cutting my own hair with a pair of scissors in 1984. I eventually got pretty good cutting the back using two mirrors. After years of frequently pinching the backs of my fingers I finally bought a pair of hair clippers and learned to use them. I am on my fourth pair currently but now my wife trims the hair nearest my neck because my second mirror broke and I cannot do it to her satisfaction.

I’m mostly bald and when the little that remains gets too long to be groomed with a simple hand pat or 2 I shave it all off. it is about every 2 months. I wish the rest would fall out.

My barber charges me a “finder’s fee” to cut my hair. Maybe a few more years there won’t be any to find.

I live in a sparsely populated area where the virus is in check. We wear masks and follow the other safety protocols. Shutdown and isolating measures have been minimal so I’ve been able to get to my barber.

Hi, Brad. That’s what George Clooney uses to cut his hair. Have a great day, and stay healthy. 🙂 —Diane at RVtravel.com

The barber, best place to go to talk sports. Before COVID I and other retirees would go and talk sports with our favorite barber. Hopefully we will soon get back on track.

We decided to cut each others hair once it was clear it was going to be a while. My wife has become an expert now and I will not go back to a barber. But, I was so bad at trimming her long hair she just learned to do it herself. 🙂

Same here now! And I think it looks pretty cool. I always had short hair as a kid and growing up. Now that I’m not working anymore Why not?

My husband and I haven’t cut our hair. It got passed the annoying stage during quarantine and we decided to just let it grow long. We just bought some hair ties. Now our grandkids and our son-in-laws have gotten haircuts at a Sports Clip a few times.

I’ve been cutting my husband’s hair for 30+ years. I grew a Covid “Coiff” when the lockdowns started but have also gotten it pruned professionally. I am helping a small business survive.

Wife has been cutting my hair the last 25 year’s. It got to darn expensive to sit in a chair for 20 minutes and spend 18 bucks plus the fringe benefits are the best.

Hairdresser for last 15+ yrs is a wonderful good hearted woman. She always knew she needed to do something else. A friend worked at a major RE company & there was opening at an office near her. She got the job & within 6 😋months was promoted to office manager. The top agent told her they would teach her the sales side if she got her license, so that is her next move. We live in Silicon Valley. What America is all about! 😊 Regarding hair. She decided she enjoyed the friendships of some of her clients. The house she rents w/her elderly parents, daughter & grandson, has an upstairs entered from a side door. There is a bedroom, bathroom & living area. That is her space. She set up a chair & portable wash basin & does hair for a handful of clients on Saturdays. She follows all the protocols one would expect. I’ve never missed a color or cut as long as I wasn’t traveling. In her spare time she leads boot camps in the am before her day job.

i saw no reason not to go to my barber. we’ve also been to a few restaurants that have remained open, grocery stores, bakeries, doctor and dentist appointments, etc. caution, not fear.

Ain’t cut mine in over three years. Maybe a trademark by now. Offered to let my oldest son take a whack if he comes for a vacation. Darned workaholic. It should be a good bribe cause he hated my hair.

I was lucky enough to have just gotten my haircut right before everything was shut down. When I dropped off my father-in-law at the same Barber I sat outside to wait for him, and there were five guys sitting in there wearing mask just shooting the breeze with the Barber, the place is a old time Barber Shop where the guys hang out during the day. And as soon as my father-in-law sat in the chair everybody sitting behind him took off their mask! My wife asked me why I didn’t get mine done? So I told her what I saw. Two weeks later we found out that one of the guys there that day came down with Covid and passed away! So my wife said whenever you feel comfortable getting it cut is fine with her. Yes, it’s getting long, but my wife now likes it that way, now that it’s almost needs a ponytail.

I cut it myself but then I had to get a friend to even it up in the back for me.

My husband is the family barber and stylist, my teen boys get their haircuts every three weeks and I take a seat every couple months to get my long hair trimmed. We continued to get haircuts on our regular schedule as we have for years. I don’t miss the hassle or expense of going to the salon or taking my boys to the barbershop.
