“Amazon has taken over the world” seems like a pretty fair statement to make, wouldn’t you agree? Even if you’re not a regular Amazon shopper, you surely know someone close to you who is (and that could include your campground neighbor!).
What a world to live in, huh? Where tinned sardines can be delivered same day to your door as well as funny T-shirts, RV parts and, yes, even toilet paper.
How often do you shop on Amazon? Do you order something daily? Once or twice a week? Once a month? Never? Feel free to leave a comment where you can be more specific with your answer. Thanks!

Unfortunately, Amazon has become the only source for items that I needed. Rural America is either Wal-Mart or Amazon.
LOVE Amazon! But watch the pricing, some items are better purchased at a local store.
We use Amazon a few times a month, (Prime member) and faster shipping.
Before that we did use them occasionally but slow shipping and shipping costs sometimes made the overall cost the same as other companies.
The only thing to watch out for is to make sure it is SOLD and SHIPPED by Amazon.
Prime TV was another plus.
We subscribe to Prime TV separately for less than a full Prime membership. I usually get our items within 2-7 days.
eBay
I clicked month but that’s not true. I travel full time, so I wait to order until I’m stopping for over 10 days. I don’t have prime so shipping can sometimes take a week. I’d say it’s closer to every 3 months, then I’ll have 2 or 3 orders.
Live in a rural area where retailers only stock commodity items. Sure they will custom order from their wholesaler something they don’t stock, but usually only for full list price. RVs and a bunch of other projects need a number of specialized parts and Amazon is the go-to. And delivery costs have become so high, it is far cheaper to buy from Amazon and directly deliver gift items than to buy the same item and ship it myself.
I used to order from Amazon a few times a year. Now, with them trying to always force a Prime membership on me in order to complete an order, I have stopped completely. In addition, I hate dealing with dishonest sellers. The whole trickery they use around Prime, as evidenced by my own experience and the government law suit against them, tells me not to support them.

The ‘force’ Amazon uses to promote their Prime membership (which I do not have or want) is a simple offer to join at checkout. That hardly rises to the level of ‘force’.
Two reasons…mainly use Amazon when I can’t find the item(s) locally. Or when price differential is too great to ignore. BTW, I rarely…very rarely…pay shipping. I just wait until I have more than the minimum order to qualify for free shipping.
Last night your site was down, I thought it was me. Great to see things back to “normal” today.
Hi, David. I don’t think our site was down last night, so I don’t know what happened that it was down for you. I just checked with our IT guy, Kim, and he said it wasn’t down or he would have received a notification that sounds like a submarine alarm, so he would have known. Also, we haven’t heard from any of our other readers about any problem. But I’m glad to hear it’s back to normal for you today. Have a great day! 😀 –Diane at RVtravel.com
The reason I shop every day is that we belong to “bookbub.com” which does daily emails on free or cheap eBooks and I chose Amazon as a place to store them. Wife and I pick the genre that we like and then click on the book in the email and it takes us to Amazon where we read more about the book and then decide to buy or not. Amazon also lets me know If we have already purchased the eBook. All the books are stored on Amazon and we can download as needed or have them automatically downloaded to whichever device when we purchase the eBook. I just checked and we have saved 16473 books to date. We started on bookbub in 2016 right after my heart transplant.
Wow, Ben. That’s a lot of books! But I’m very glad to hear your heart transplant worked out so you can read a bunch of books! Take care, and have a great day. 😀 –Diane at RVtravel.com
As little as possible. Amazon doesn’t pay my friends and neighbors like Mom & Pop stores do. If I support Amazon, I tell my friends and neighbors to take a hike.
