Do you start each day with a cup of coffee?

Ah, coffee… that magical, delicious stuff that gets us through the day! Are you a coffee drinker? If so, do you start each and every day with a good ol’ cup of joe?

For many RVers and travelers, that first sip of coffee is more than just a caffeine fix—it’s a comforting ritual. If this is how you start your day, you know there’s no other way to start it! Some people swear by their French press, while others are devoted to their trusty drip machine or travel-friendly pour-over setup.

And let’s not forget about the mugs—everyone seems to have a favorite! Maybe yours has a snarky saying, a campground logo, or a chip in the rim from that one bumpy ride down a forest road. That mug, that brew, and that moment of calm… Ah, it’s all part of the morning magic.

If you are a coffee drinker, how do you take your daily cup (or cups)? Cream and sugar? Almond milk, no sugar? Cream, caramel swirl? Hot? Iced? Shaken? Stirred? 😉

After you vote in the poll below, please leave a comment and tell us how much coffee you drink on a daily basis (one cup? three? five?) and how you take it. We’re curious. And cheers!

And, yes, your answer counts whether you brew it yourself at home or RV, or if you get it out at a drive-through or coffee shop every morning.

My job when camping is to make sure DW has a nice steaming cup in her hand first thing in the morning. She likes her quiet time waking up in her comfy chair, watching the sun come up and sipping her morning coffee. That’s how she likes camping, and I make sure she starts her day out right.

I have tried it every way possible just can’t bring myself to like it. BUT every single morning I make a fresh cup for the DW! I drink hot tea in mornings and iced thr rest of the day. Her its coffee, iced coffees and iced teas. Strangely enough I don’t mind the smell of coffee, just don’t like the taste!

I’ve never liked the taste of coffee. The wife has her morning cup of coffee and I have a cup of green tea with honey.

Never liked the smell or taste of coffee. For the past 10 years or so I’ve been drinking a cup of green tea in the morning.

2 cups a day with real milk or cream made with an aeropress. The aeropress is portable and makes a wonderfully rich cup of coffee.

Real coffee is best by throwing a handful of coffee in a pot of boiling water on a campfire, let the grounds settle and enjoy while listening to the creek flowing by.

From age 16 to now 70, I start my day with a cup of black tea. Then after a bit, I get a good mug of black coffee!!

Strong and black. No sugar or cream. Good Community coffee is the best. Seventy years old and still sipping!

Two cups, each with a dose of International’s Almond Joy creamer. I’m not a black coffee drinker at all.

Didn’t start drinking coffee until I was 40. RVing is to blame! 🙂 We had a new 1998 Tioga C that had a coffee pot mounted under the cabinet over the table and started using it. ☕️ 👍

Our 2000 Dynamax Isata has a Mr. Coffee under cabinet coffee maker and it still works great to this day.

“Sometimes” is a better answer for me. We live in AZ, so during the summer I skip a lot of mornings…too hot to drink hot coffee! Sometimes my husband makes a pot and I use the leftovers to make iced coffee.. 😉

A whole pot of strong, black coffee -1 cup for my wife that she doctors up with cappucino mix. I spent 20 years in Uncle Sam’s Canoe club, the best canoe club on the globe. There are those that didn’t partake of that wonderful elixir though and we thought they were a little strange…

Protein drink. When younger I never could get the taste of coffee to what I liked without so much sugar that a spoon stood up lol. Later in life I discovered that I have a reaction to caffeine that caused an irregularity in my heart rate. Coffee was not to blame but caffeinated sodas.

We have cut down to one 16 ounce mug a day. Used to do 2, but last summer we were finding our slow sipping led us to having coffee into the heat of the day. Way back, I used to drink a whole pot, maybe more, sometimes right up to bedtime. Can’t do that anymore. Now, it’s coffee in the morning and done. Except if we go out for breakfast, then it’s coffee until we close out the check and leave.

Became addicted by 19 joining the military. My brother and I stationed in England at the the same base and organization drank 2, 30 cup urns daily and after work found we still had coffee cups in our hands . I drank coffee like that until about 10 years ago now about 8-10 cups between morning hot and after noon time iced. Caffeine junky here.

I still have the coffee IV needle in my arm from when I was active duty (and I retired from the Air Force 32 years ago). I can trip down a flight of stairs with a full cup of coffee and never spill a drop. 😁😁😁😁

I start with fruit juice at breakfast. After breakfast, I enjoy a cup of coffee. That’s the way I’ve done it all my adult life.

I admit it, I’m addicted! My coffee maker has a timer on it. As a matter of fact, it grinds the beans then makes the coffee at 0600 every morning.

Tea for us “Tea, Earl Grey, hot” from Picard in Star Trek describes our morning ritual perfectly, both in the rig and at home. Loose leaf, brewed in a Mr. Coffee. DH and I usually finish off the 12 cup pot.

I love a good cup of coffee, but only if I have cream. Dairy doesn’t agree with me, so instead, I make a pot of English tea. I don’t mind tea with soy milk. But I will have coffee with cream a few times per road trip because … holidays!

Lissa

Coffee has been my morning go-to for most of my adult life. I never gave much thought to it beyond having some favored brands of coffee, and my personal customized brew method and add-ins.
Then I went to Italy. There I had real coffee. Espresso the way it’s meant to be. I tried all kinds of different styles, from Americano to macchiato, and delighted in paying no more than 3 Euros a cup. (Star who?)
I came home and bought myself an espresso machine – heaven in a cup every day! I even got my husband drinking coffee with me. Then I bought a compact machine to go in the camper, and an even smaller pod machine to go on hotel road trips – no nasty hotel room coffee for me!
I’m so spoiled …

I used to start each day with a pot of coffee. Them my cardiac doc said don’t do that. So now it’s one, maybe 2 cups in the AM. Black, no cream, no sugar, nothing but pure black unadulterated coffee, the darker the better. The best coffee? Civet coffee, look it up for those that don’t know.

My morning coffee starts my day off just right, I do the pour over method when camping and at home, I drink one 20 oz Yeti cup with cream and a little sugar.

Of course! And sometimes I wear my cowboy hat while enjoying my coffee.
