This should get everyone talking! How many times do you use the same bath towel when you shower or bathe? Do you only use it one time before you throw it in the wash (meaning you get a new/clean towel every time you bathe)? Do you use it a couple of times? Three or four times? Do you use the same towel for about a week before replacing it? More than that?
Some folks swear by a fresh towel every single time—it feels cleaner, softer, and more luxurious. Others figure, “Hey, I’m clean when I get out of the shower, so the towel’s still clean too.” Then there are the practical types who say it just depends on the weather: In hot, humid climates, towels don’t last as long before they start feeling damp or musty, while in drier places you can stretch their use a bit further.
And, of course, RV life adds another wrinkle. Storage space is limited, laundry isn’t always convenient, and fresh water can be precious, so many RVers stretch towel use longer on the road than they might at home. On the flip side, some campers prefer quick-dry microfiber towels that are easier to wash more often but don’t feel quite the same as a big fluffy bath towel.
So, does it depend on whether or not you’re traveling in your RV or at your sticks-and-bricks home? After all, we bet you have more towels at your sticks-and-bricks than you carry in your RV. Right? For today’s poll, since it might depend, let’s say we’re wondering about “generally speaking.”
Feel free to leave a comment after you vote, but we have a feeling this poll might not receive too many comments…

Well since I am clean when I use it and it dries hanging there politely waiting for me to use it again, I feel obligated to do so. Seriously, about a week or just under depending on temperatures and humidity (outside)!
We use Norwex brand towels which can be used for extended periods. Check them out. Great for RVers
Ditto!
“Just once – I use a new towel every time I bathe.” Those are the people who have no responsibility for dealing with laundry.
I do laundry and only use a bath towel once before laundering. Hand towels are multi use, but not our bath towels. To each his/her own.
We use our bath towel after we are thoroughly scrubbed and fully rinsed. They are typically washed weekly, assuming we shower every other day. Heavier use means we break out the spare towels.
We do laundry once a week, so we wash them once a week which means our towels are being used 3 or 4 times before being washed. We usually shower every other day. So, I could have chosen two answers in the poll.
I first use my facecloth to “dry off” the excess water. There’s so much that I wring it out 3 or more times! Then “finish” with my bath towel! Towel last for a week!!
Until my wife takes it to be washed. Usually a week, give or take.
If it was up to me, I’d use the same towel 2 or 3 times but DW insists it go to wash after one use!
Once a day at home but when camping every 5 days or so…
We go about five times unless it fails the sniff test.
If i’m clean after a shower and I’ve thoroughly rinsed myself why would a bath towel need to be washed?
How about months? If you’re clean and rinsed off, it’s not like it gets dirty. However, I will hang it outside on a clothes line or rack if the weather cooperates. I only shower every 2-3 days unless I did something that got me dirty. This was on the advice of a dermatologist who said showering every day strips your skin of its natural oils and leads to dry skin.
There was no choice for air drying.
Thank you for the question, RV Travel! I wash towels about every two weeks when we’re home and every two or three weeks when traveling. Sometimes DW uses more than one towel between washings, but I rarely do. Have a great day and safe travels!
