Which of these places in nature would you pick to spend time?

If you had to pick one of the below places in nature to spend some time, which would you pick?

Do you find your peace by the ocean, sitting and enjoying the waves?

Or do you find it by walking a trail through a beautiful forest, perhaps in the Redwoods or the beautiful lush forests of Washington and Oregon state?

What about being surrounded by mountains? Those jagged peaks of the Rocky Mountains are something special.

Or is your favorite place to spend time in the desert, among the cacti and gorgeous red rocks?

Tell us in the poll below, and feel free to leave a comment.

And remember, we’re just asking you to pick one here. (Trust us, we know it’s hard!)

Bummer, I wish we could select “all of the above” as that’s why I own an RV.

When the desert becomes wallpaper, we head to the pines. When trees become mediocre, we travel to the plains. When grasslands become episodic, the ocean’s a great cure. When being at sea level starts getting dull, we seek out the mountains. The seasons tend to influence things almost as much as the scenery though.

Vince, you are making the most of the RV life, taking you to a variety of scenery and enjoying all of it. Safe travels.

This is the answer. I can’t pick one. We have experienced them all.

How about the desert and the mountains. We love northern New Mexico!

How about next to a mountain lake below the tree line?
Our home comes close to having it all. Our home is on the island end of the Keweenaw Peninsula which juts out toward the middle of Lake Superior from Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. An inland sea surrounds us with lakes, rivers and streams flowing through forested mountains (okay, not the Rockies) shear cliffs, sand beaches (and sand dunes). There are 3 seasons (spring is just melting snow and mud). The downside, is there is little in the way of box store shopping, it is at the end of the food distribution chain, and hard to get specialty medical care (primary care and schools are great). Why leave to RV? As we age, the winters get tough.

Fifth Choice, In the Forest by the Lake.

Or, if you live where we do in southern California you could do all of them in the same day. Of course that might not meet the “spend time” part of the question.

Yeah, not fair because we love all of those choices and try to do all each year.

I find these kind of surveys ambiguous. We regularly camp in the Smoky mountains and the Ozarks where we’re in both the mountains and forest. That makes you choose how to reply. We have never stayed in the desert because my wife is afraid of scorpions and rattlesnakes so I don’t know how I would feel about it. We’re not ocean people but love camping beside a mountain lake or stream.

Just put me in that picture you headed this survey with. A mtn in the distance wouldn’t be all bad tho….. I love northern Minn. Tall pines, wonderful smells, lakes and streams and water falls too. Wish we could have enjoyed more time together in these places………. God had other plans.

Under ideal circumstances, I love the forest. But there has to be an “it depends” component.
When it is not hot, I love the desert, not only for the scenery but because i don’t have to worry about bears or getting enough solar exposure.

I picked one but all but the Ocean sound good to me. Lived close enough to it for many years so it’s not as amazing as the other options.

Live where all of it is except the desert. I miss the desert in spring and late fall of New Mexico and Arizona. Spent 10 years in the area and it didn’t matter what area it was all great. It the opposite of the East Coast the desert is only missing the ocean.

None of the above. I want the rolling hills and the open plains of the mid-west where I can hear the corn grow and experience the sweet smell of new mown hay. There I can also camp by a river or stream as well being able to wander through a timber and watch the deer. I can sit in the pines with nothing to hear. I can watch the leaves as they turn and then rake them up and smell them burn. Then when I arise, and the snow flies, ….. OK, time to get in the RV and head back to Florida.

I live within 3 miles of the overdeveloped Atlantic coast in S FL (officially) altho we’re slowly moving to our retirement home in S Central Florida Can’t go to the beach because of crowds & expensive, limited parking I can no longer backpack. I loved multiple day canoe trips with my Boy Scout troop thru the Northern Tier High Adventure Base Been too long a flatlander to desire seeing tall mountains-Appalachians and Great Smoky are ok My will states I’m to be cremated if there’s no LEO body farm within 100 miles, & some of my ashes buried at places I would like(or have) visit such as forest, gardens etc.

I too miss the canoe trips and adventure camping with our local Scout Troop. I was Scoutmaster for 10-12 years. Restarted a closed troop – managed to get 3 Eagles, 2 of which are still in Scout leadership! One has two Eagle kids!

I enjoy all of those places, but since you can only pick one, I pick the mountains for sure!
