Amazing $500 RV makeover; it’s only missing one big thing…

By Cheri Sicard
When it comes to doing an RV makeover on your trailer or motorhome, sometimes a little bit of money can go a very long way. Case in point: the stunning RV makeover on the 1991 Class C motorhome in the video below from Bob Wells of Cheap RV Living.

Now, I will put in a caveat that while this old motorhome looks stunning, it does lack some basic amenities, like plumbing. Autumn, its owner, came from the world of car camping, so for her, it was a huge step up, even without plumbing. And the presence or absence of plumbing would not affect the aesthetics of an RV makeover in any case.

She does have a portable toilet, and she showers at the gym, a solution many full-time RVers who don’t move a lot use.

Autumn also carries a generator and has a functional kitchen, including a fridge, stove, and oven. She has rooftop solar and carries a portable power station.

Autumn’s RV makeover project was more than aesthetics. When she bought the old motorhome, it had leaks and needed a new roof. Autumn says she did the job herself for about $300. So far, there have been no more leaks!

Autumn started her full-time camping journey during the pandemic, and she does not foresee going back. She loves how much more time she has and how much money she saves.

Beyond the tour of Autumn’s awesome RV makeover, the video is interesting because she and Bob discuss the RV lifestyle, the financial savings and freedom that come with it, along with the stigmas that can also accompany it.

What do you think of Autumn’s RV makeover? Leave your thoughts in the comments below.

She’s done a lot of nice work and it looks great. But, I just don’t see the point in not having any plumbing. That’s just way too inconvenient and we would never consider it. I wonder if that will change as she gets older.

I agree completely, but to each their own.
